Okay, so I know this is more of a "tell funny stories about things that happen in the park" forum, but I was directed here by a former WDW cast member in hopes that I'd get the best answer for my questions. :]

I'm 20 years old, and I really would love to be a face character, but due to the three tattoos on my arms (one on each wrist, one on my upper bicep) that I got when I just turned 18, that pretty much isn't possible. Would it be possible, since I'd be in a full costume, that I could be a fur character? If I wore long sleeves, even in summer, could I be an attraction operator or a photopass photographer? I know Disney looks down on tattoos, and I really should have thought of that before I got them, but this is literally my biggest dream, and I still have hope to fulfill it. Someone please tell me there's a chance? haha.

Take a look at the official rules: http://cp.disneycareers.com/en/about-disney-college-program/disney-look/

But basically as long as they can be discretely covered, you are good.

Thank you so much! I guess before I interview and move down there, I'll have to buy a bunch of long sleeved white shirts and some dermablend. haha.

I'm guessing since fur characters have full body costumes, tattoos don't matter for them.

:sgthello: tatooedhopeful. Please stand by for your safety spiel. With any luck, that will burn the tatoos right off, but then you won't have a face to be a face character, either. :o:

Make-up Artist friend of mine tells me he is trying to market his tattoo/burn/blemish cover-up.Drew Barrymore used it. It's supposed to be breathable and last for days. I'll get his info to anyone who is interested.:)

I'm gonna have to live longer. I've had many moments of fun but not many that I regret. There was West Point but that's a story for another time.

Ha! I've got TWO of those!!!!!:p:Do you mean the boys (I like them!) or you mean tats? Haven't seen those.

Tatooedhope, I work with CMs who have tats. As long as your tats are covered, you are good to go. Stores @ DLR allows long sleeves for both sexes. IDK abt stores @ WDW. Welcome to SGT mania.

*puts out the fire, sweeps up the ashes*

Looks like the safety spiel took care of the tats. :p:

To amplify what Main Streeter said, I'm a character attendant and know some face characters with tats. If you can't see them they don't care. Of course, I would not recommend getting them just the same. Good luck in your audition!

Thank you for the input! Sadly, I have one on each wrist, and one on my upper left bicep. Kills pretty much every princess for me. I could be villains, but I realized that also comes with possibly being in Fantasmic, and I'm phobic of pyrotechnics. I deal with the fireworks at night, but if I can steer clear of them, that's preferred. Haha.

I'm tattooed and phobic of pyrotechnics. Of all the places I could dream of working, it happens to be a place that's tattoo unfriendly and pyrotechnic friendly.

Unless I'm mistaken, though, aren't in park characters a different department within entertainment from Parades/Show characters (which would include Fantasmic?)

Nope, not AFAIK. Though normally, AFAIK, friends of the characters start out doing meet and greets and can move to doing parades and shows if they want after a while. Nobody is forced to into a show or parade from doing meet and greets (in other words, one can keep doing meet and greets forever if they wish).

However, shows are absolutely a promotion from entertainment m&g land.
