So, one day I'm at Roger Rabbit loading people in, you know shutting doors, lowering lap bars, etc. So this one guy gets in and something in his pocket catches my attention, I do a double take and he's got a Universal Studios map in his pocket. I made a comment something like 'I think you've got the wrong map there' with a smile on my face to make sure he knew I was jesting. He didn't respond I don't know if he didn't hear me, didn't speak english or what. Anyway, after we sent his car in I told the console CM about his map and we spent the next half hour carrying on about his day with the wrong map. "Excuse me, I can't find the Mummy ride" Holding out his map "Can you show me where that (pointing to any random place he's in front of) is on here" etc, etc we got pretty silly, but it was fun. :)

It probably didn't matter that he had the wrong map. The guests can't read the right one to begin with. I wonder why the went back to one map for each park but put the show schedules together (its like Legoland's map....) they couldn't read them before we changed it what makes us think they can read them now.

"Please leave your brain at the gate." They never read the maps. I have so many people asking me stupid questions. Haha! They never know where anything is unless they've been there before. :roll:

greatest thing is when they speak perfect english, have a folded map tucked under their arm, and still have the audacity to ask where something is, then when you explain, they ask for a map.

The maps are now like Disneyworld's. There they have a separate map for each park and I think the show schedules were all together. I don't remember but I'm sure someone who works there knows. :) I think it's to make it feel like a vacation spot where you spend a few days rather than a theme park that you go to for one day.

I was Greeter at Pooh and this family came up to me and asked me how to get on (they pointed at the picture of the monorail on the map) I gave them very detailed intructions on how to get to tomorrowland. Then they asked if the monorail had other stops in Disneyland. Turned out they wanted to get on the steam train. Personally I think the monorail and steam trains look nothing alike.

LOL you must have had the same guests. Either that or I had similar guests. Some guests asked me that same question yesterday except they pointed at the train track asking where the other Monorail stops were. I had to to tell them that what they were pointing at was the train track and that you can only board the Monorail in Tomorrowland. They then asked me where GCH was and I pointed on the map. They asked if it was a far walk and I told them about 10 minutes through DTD. I asked if that was where they were staying and they said "near there".

Near there??? I hope they got to the right hotel.

Gurr...the whole Monorail/Train confusion drives me nuts. I can never win that one. Whenever somebody asks for the train they want the Monorail, and when they want the Monorail they ask for the train...or the tram even.

And then if I try to get them to clarify by asking "you mean the one that goes around the park?" they always stare at me like I'm the one who is an idiot.

No way to win.

Oh I agree. My best map story...

This lady comes up to me as I was walking on stage (mistake) to Mansion (or maybe it was Pooh GC doesn't matter) and this lady asked me how to get to DCA. I gave her detailed instructions using the map how to exit NOS get to Main Street and walk across the Enterence Plaza to DCA. Her next question? Is it far? Did you not notice the giant CALIFORNIA letters on the opposite side............

Sure its far....that's why everything is within walking distance at DL, unlike WDW were you have to take trams/boats/buses/monorails everywhere. (I've never been but my brother talked about it)
