 Based on the description I've read here, I think I saw Smiley on Friday, Aug. 6th. It was around 10 PM on the Tomorrowland side of Matterhorn and he was walking down the hill. Red hat, shiny jacket, t-shirt, khaki shorts (maybe pants) and the look on his face scared the shit out of me. i ran away and i'm just a guest.
no, i had him up at the station for the sweeper trip, he wasn't wearing aa jacket, t-shirt and shorts, never seen him in a hat either.

Smiley's name is John. He is definitely a creepy creature. He always has a cup of coffee in his hand. He likes to sit by himself in Great moments with Mr Lincoln in the front row.Don't want to know what he does up there. Always wants to be alone in a pirate boat. And always takes the sweeper trip with the rear conductor. Most female conductors will switch so they don't have to stand with him behind them, especially between Main st and New Orleans. Gives me the creeps

Is it possible that he's mentally-challanged?? Because I had heard many cast members talk badly about certain guests whom I KNEW for a fact were mentally-challanged/handicapped. And it made me sad because people do that all the time to a cousin of mine whom my parents raised (he's an adult and it's like people don't know that even adults can be retarded, so they just think he's "creepy"). Or is he really just genuinly a weird and creepy guy?
Does anyone know Warren?? He hangs out alot near/at Fantasyland Madhatter because he buys random people hats and stuff. He looks like this big dirty creepy guy, and he has a harsh and kinda strange sense of humor...so alot of girls are afraid of him. I didn't know what to think of him at first...but then he's not SO bad...he's just different. And he does really cool stuff for people like buying stuff for them and whatever. He also hangs out at Knott's Berry Farm and does the same thing. He apparently has TONS of money and this is his fun.

I've met Warren once, a while back. Another CM introduced me to him in fact. I thought he was a fairly nice guy, but I do understand how he could come off a bit strange at first. He had a bit of an eccentric vibe to him.

Warren. . . yeah that guy! He used to harass me when I used to work at Knott's. He has an annual pass to both places, and goes to both places every day.
From what I've heard about him, he was a successful person, and then he had an aneurysm. It was then that he stopped shaving, and dressed the way he does now. He still has a kind heart, but he's kinda clingy in his own way. Typical lonely old guy. Has interesting things to say. But, I've also heard that he lives with his mother, and although he seems to have $$$ all the time to buy little things here and there for other people, (supposedly) it's his SSI check.

Grumpy, yeah, that's him! I mean, I always honestly liked him...I know SO many girls who were scared of him though! And, admittedly, at first I didn't know what to think because he comes off as kind of...strange. But he's a pretty cool guy. He bought me a turkey leg once and brought it to me for lunch because he said he overheard me saying how I forgot money for lunch...I thought it was sweet of him.
Anyway, I heard the same thing you did...about how he was some aeronatical engineer or something like that and that he had an anyurism (sp??) but that he gets all kinds of money still and has this huge life savings, etc. Anyway, however and wherever he gets his money, it's cool to see that he spends it on kids and people he doesn't even know...just to brighten their day a little bit. People are so stingy and greedy these days and that really touched me that he does that for people.

well, I thought that I would mention his piece of adversity, more for his safety. I don't want some jerk to see how much of a nice guy he is, follow him somewhere, track him down, and mug him or anything like that.
I haven't seen him around Disneyland yet, I guess he's there when I'm not. . LOL But I would see him every so often at Knott's.

John or Smiley as you all know him is mentally challanged. If i remeber correctly one of his siblings used to work at the company too. And John has some odd restricitons like only being able to be on one side of the park per day (Adventureland side or Tomorrowland side) and he can't wear all black.
He is a nice guy just really creepy. Oh well..

I like Warren.
"Do you guys accept bad checks?"
One of the Fantasyland Mad Hatter example hats said Warren for a short time, a couple of years ago. Got changed when it was discovered, guess the leads didn't want to encourage him! I loved to see the faces of the people he randomly bought hats for. "How much?" "It's free for you today!" "Whaaat?"
John (smiley) is a little off, he's definatly challenged, but it seems that he would have turned out alot less creepy if someone had taken the time raise him. and he'll ride the front or back of the sweeperdepends on where the girl is, or if it's only guys, he'll sit where ever, usually behind a conductor he feels will provide the best conversation, i've seen him sit in all manor a places, however, i find it odd that he never takes the cabose.

There have been a few times when Warren and I would be walking and talking around KBF (like i said, haven't seen him yet @ DL), and he would tell me to go up to a certain person in a certain shop and tell them "Warren said that you have to give me a (insert item here) for free." Of course, the emp. would look at Warren, and just shake his/her head.
He was actually kicked out of Knott's by Jack Falfas himself (the general manager of Knott's, and a VP of Cedar Fair), because according to Jack, Warren was "ruining guest experience" Merely because so many emps. know him. On the train, the robbers will honestly say "stick 'em up, Warren!" I guess Jack got too pissed off at an AP that comes EVERY DAY. He is now allowed back in the park, though. I guess they need his business during the year. . LOL

Oh man..so many Smiley stories...I wrote about him a lot in a post down below...
For all of you who are trying to find Smiley, I mostly have seen him at night on my attraction. I am unfortunately one of the girls he "smiles a little bigger at". LOL. Anyway, he has a jean jacket with tan sleeves and usually wears jeans. I've never seen him with a hat. He has reddish hair and I don't believe I've ever seen him with a hat on.
His name is John, he was kicked out of the park a while ago for touching a Main Street horse "inappropriately". Apparently he even told a cast member he was fired from a Ralphs store for doing the same thing (he is known to make himself happy in the rides, too). Supposedly his mother is a prminent lawyer, and fought to get her son back into the park with his AP.
Does anyone know Robert???? The guy who keeps a careful log of every single ride and every single time he goes on the rides?? He is mentally handicapped, but unlike Smiley, he never bugs anyone and is absolutely adorable. Lol

Robert is so nice! He and (sometimes) his friend Brett come into the Emporium EVERY SINGLE NIGHT and try to help us close. They try to put things away and stay there until every last guest is out of the store, which is sometimes as late as 1:45 on nights the park closes at midnight. I always wondered what he had in that notebook! From what he has told me, he gets to the park sometime around 10 in the morning every day and is, I believe, the last guest out the gate. Now that's dedication!

Robert is so nice! At pooh we give him his own Beehive and always ask him how many times. He rides 4 or 5 times in a row. My lead was at Dispatch and was telling Robert about the refurb of Snow White (I think he rides that one a lot too)

Yep, I've met Robert. He's usually the last one to ride Autopia (or at least he was a couple of summers ago when I worked Fastpass there) One of the CMs I work with in Toontown thought he was a Mystery Guest when he first saw Robert since he had a notebook and all.

A Mystery Guest comes into the park as a normal guest. They evaluate one location (Store, dinning, attraction etc). Basically they are there to see if we are doing our jobs correctly. Disney brigns them in to make sure we are providing the highest quality service to all of our guests.
Oh Smiley was at Pooh last night. The lead was grouping and he placed him at the Load 1 beehicle. (I was at Load 2). Then the lead sent the load 1 CM (male) down to Unload to replace the female CM down there. The first CM came back after Smiley got off. Smiley wasn't smiling after the Lead had made sure that niether myself or the other female CM had to deal with Smiley.

Well, like I said, Smiley usually wears a jean jacket with tan sleeves, jeans, simple shirt..no hat...I think he has red hair.
Please don't bash me, because I think he has a mental handicap of some sort...but you can tell this by his face. Unfortunately, his troll-like smile is usually frozen in place...and that evil grin gets even bigger when he's near a female CM ::shudders::
I'm trying to think of what I can compare him to....but know this--he's ALWAYS by himself. I have only seen him during the day ONCE during my 1 1/2 years there.

Mystery Guests/Mystery Shoppers, & there are many more than we can imagine, are not hired by Disney Land. They are from an independent company Disney contracts with. Am I correct about this? Heard this before I hired in in 2000. Mystery Guests/Mystery Shoppers check for theft in stores & ODV. They often are accompanied by one or 2 children, may have a stroller, a large balloon & a few full Disney bags. Some are also mentally/physically challanged, or appear to be. CMs are extremely scrutinized as to how we respond & treat those who may seemingly need more help & friendliness then the average Guests.

You are correct main streeter about them being contracted by Disneyland. Both my locations tend to score 100% pretty regulary. We got docked pretty bad at the Haunted Mansion one of the comments was "They didn't smile" we were all WTF?! I just was on a 100% Mystery Guest score for Pooh. Have yet to see the comments just was informed by my lead. That means I do something right :)

Makes me wonder -- can you spot them? Do they take notes or anything?
When I was last at WDW, I carried a PassPorter guidebook and took lots of notes for our family scrapbook and online trip report. We received fabulous treatment everywhere we went. I've always thought it was just the usual Disney magic, but now I'm wondering... Would someone taking notes in the park make you think they were possibly evaluating you?

Actually, no ... Mystery Guests don't carry notebooks or visably take notes ... they're supposed to be very incognito. After awhile, I came to be able to tell who the Mystery Guests were. They usually start off by asking three varied questions and then purchase something, etc. Alot of us can tell who the MGs are just by their actions ... but it's still so hard to judge! Each shop gets evaluated every month.
Now that is seriously a job I wouldn't mind having ... I wonder how the pay is and where you go to apply??

I tried not to work Emporium very often, but there were times when I had to and he'd be there at closing EVERY time I closed there. He would walk around and help straighten up and he'd say goodnight to all the guests ... haha! It was cute. Some people were freaked out by him but I knew he was mentally challanged. Guests would come up and go, "Does he work here??" because he'd be helping straighten and directing guests to the nearest cash register, etc. LOL! Anyway, good times....

I've done them before (not as disneyland) there are a bunch of companies that hook you up with them, but it's independent contractor work and it isn't steady. It's nice to help out with the bills a little.
Typically you get payed by the job, like $10-$15. Depending on the company you may get to keep what you buy and charge them for it (I once got to drive a nice rental convertable for a weekend for free [including gas]) some make you return the items (saves money, and allows them to check out the return policy).
It's not as fun as it sounds. You have strict guidelines, and sometimes it hurts to give out the scores. One of the last places I went to (I did these during a brief stint of unemployment, they are great then since you can schedule them around your job interviews) there was a really sweet young lady, extremely nice and friendly, but the company wanted to hear her use there 'slogans' and she didn't, and therefore I had to dock her major points.

This was caused by the PassPorter. CMs at WDW and the DCL (and soon Disneyland!) know it as the sign of the very best guests of all -- guests informed, organized, and unlikely to act like Passholes.
And the fact that I'm a technical editor for the PassPorter guidebooks has nothing to do with the above statement! </plug>

So you only get paid $10-$15 for the entire job?? Or do you mean $10-$15 an HOUR? Well, I'm only working part-time for minimum wage right now anyway and I seriously wouldn't mind finding out how to get a job like that. Like, where do I look to get in touch with the companies? I know there are certain things that suck ... like having to dock points on a really nice person ... but still ... it'd be nice to be able to do this kind of work so I can be a stay-at-home-mom!

You know SMILEY is not a bad guy.....He is kinda creepy..because he comes by himself..and always has a smile on his face. As a girl Cast member on one of his favorite rides to ride at the end of the night I know how it is. He kinda creeped me out but never threatened me in anyway, it was kinda weird always having hiim try and to stay on the same area as the female cast members. But other than that he was always polite...he never said anything or made a scene....but I HAVE HEARD STORIED!!!!!

I've known of John for over 10 years. He used to be a BIG pain to Parades, always hanging all over the rope girls at the rear of the parade. Several times I've had to physically block him because he'd walk right behind my girls rubbing his crotch against their rears. Sick guy. I always wanted to bring in a couple of biker friends to 'pick a fight' with John and beat him senseless.
When I was in store ops, he was forbidden from entering certain stores because of his harassing certain females. Security should just pull his passport and keep a picture of him on file so that he can't buy another one.
if you've known John for 10 years you should know that they've tried it, but his parents are lawyers, and found legal reasons why they can't without getting sued. He has had his pass suspended several times, which i know because he's told me about a few of them. the one that i did think was completly bogus (having only heard his side of it, figuring there was more than likely more to it) but he claimes to have recived a two week suspention of his pass for having a laser pointer, which appearently we don't allow, which is kinda a nice thing because there is way too much mayhem that can be caused by them. The day I see a red dot dancing around my person, or all over someone else is the day i hit the deck and make a scene.

I've never known of who John (Smiley)'s parents are supposed to be. I'd doubt that they were lawyers, because then they'd be aware of the negative publicity that having a mentally challenged stalker son running amok in public places would be. I'd also think that Disneyland should permanently revoke any possible pass because someday John might stop stalking cast members and begin following young girl guests and possibly molest one. THEN the park would wake up and take notice.
Now that I think of it, I have a daughter, and I've seen John around the park as a guest. I no longer work at Disneyland, but I have an annual pass (note the distinction; I HAVE an annual pass, as opposed to being an annual passholder), so I can observe him, and as a guest myself, my opinion would mean more than that of a CM (sadly).

If Simley, or any other aspect of the DLR, makes you feel unsafe, uncomfortable, or you just don't like it, then leave, and don't come back. I've never seen John harass ANYONE, male or female, i have heard some rather comical depictions of him getting womped by the horse for trying to have inappropriate relations with it. In fact the worst thing i've ever seen him do was have a conversation with my lead (who is female, and slightly attractive) about how he was mad that the girl at Pooh couldn't let him take his drink on the ride, which he commenced to throw into the planter (the drink not the cm.) every other time i've seen him while i was working, or as a guest, he seems to be minding his own bussiness, not looking at the girls anymore than the next man. As a father you might have a completly different veiw, but there is no need to for the seemingly malcontent towards him which you are displaying, i doubt if he will ever start stalking guests, security would be on him like flies on poop. As far as molesting them goes, well, i think he learned his lesson with the horse, there is no dobut in my mind that security, or the other powers that be have had a talk or two with him about appropriate behavior. The worst thing i've EVER seen him do was to sit behind a girl on the train and shatter the bounds of apporpriatness... by talking to her :!:  :!:

You didn't read my first posting apparently. I said I had to PHYSICALLY BLOCK HIM FROM RUBBING HIS CROTCH AGAINST THE BEHINDS OF THE ROPE GIRLS DURING PARADES!.
Is that clear enough for you? I've also seen female employees freak out becuase he came into their shops after being forbidden by security (and why do you think he was forbidden by security from coming in?) and making them uncomfortable. He's also stayed just outside a shop, in view of a cast member he was bothering KNOWING he coudn't be busted because he was outside the shop (he's told me directly that he knew he wasn't supposed to be in the shop but that he wasn't told he couldn't be outside).
If YOU haven't seen him physically bother someone, or had a friend freak out becuase he was stalking her, then I guess you don't know what a danger he might be. As for me, I know he has the potential for danger to the park and the public, and I don't want to read about someone's daughter going thru hell and think, "I shoulda done something about it..."

How long ago was this that you had to do that, i mean at least five years ago, since POTS doesn't have "rope girls." It isn't his fault he's mentally unstable, like i said if it concerns you sooooo much, dont' come to the park, and if you come even though you feel unsafe... keep a close eye on your daughter, i don't know how old she is, but there are far scarier things in then world then simley, just make sure you scream "fire" and not rape, it gets a better response.

Yes, I'll always watch out for my daughter.
I have to say, GMC that you disgust me with your attitude of "if it bothers you, run away and hide from it" I realize this isn't an exact quote, but it is what you are saying.
For those who are of a mind to learn from this, I can say that one should NEVER run when something can be done about a dangerous situation, and even when you do have to run, notify someone about the situation, so that something can be done about it.
Yes, I know there aren't Disney rope girls, there are now GUEST rope girls (and guys). And some of the behavior I've witnessed (John intimidating cast members) has occured since POTS.
I don't have to worry about being let go, or getting Disney in trouble if I report on John, so I'll be much more aware of when I see him at the park.
And if I see anything that is reportable, I'll report it, so that if he is getting worse (read about stalkers and molesters, they don't just get bored and stop, they invariably get worse) the authorities can do something about it.

It's sad that he's mentally unstable, but that doesn't give him excuse to keep harasing people and molesting horses.

I have to say, GMC that you disgust me with your attitude of "if it bothers you, run away and hide from it" I realize this isn't an exact quote, but it is what you are saying.
WHOA! Wait a minute!!! Back up here screenwriter. GMC is rather liked around here  & he was ONLY stating his opinion just as you were stating yours. Don't come here & attack. We are here for fun, stress release & even some edjekation. READ THE SITE RULES!! Dang, this post upsets me!

I do appreciate what this site is for, and believe me, I thought about what I was writing. But to run from a problem and "hope it goes away" goes against everything I've ever learned as a human being, an American, and a Disneyland Cast Member.
I'm sure that GMC, once he sat down and thought about it, would realize the outlook is different for someone who's actually witnessed John physically touching Cast Members.

I'm going to back up my buddy GMC here (even though I'm gonna kill him....).
You've both got valid points. If you're so upset do something about it. I am lucky to have not been harrassed by Smiley so I don't have much to say here. If you don't like it complain, but unless you are serrious about taking action its all just steam to me.

All right bud, you're clearly as ignorant as the next pass holder. Obviously simley has calmed down, most likely with age, as you said it's been ten years, so is it safe to assume that maybe in those ten years, he might be getting better!?
I'm not saying to run away from things and hide from things that bother you, i'm telling you to not do things you think are too dangerous to do, this can be as simple as walking everywhere because your car might explode, or could be more along the lines of not bungee jumping because if that cord snaps, it's not going to feel good.
I am telling you that if having John around the park makes you feel UNSAFE (not uncomfortable) then DON'T COME HERE. While i'm all for promoting my place of work, I don't need people freaking out because something MIGHT happen. I can assure you that if John was seen doing anything that appeared to be unsafe, someone would stop him.
As far as revoking his pass, THAT is sweeping it under a rug, and THAT is not acceptable, when he is in the park he CAN be kept under constant supervision, when not in the park, he could be off doing who knows what. If you're going to have trouble accepting the fact that's he's your FELLOW AP, and he ALSO enjoys this park, he just enjoys it in a different way than you do!
I'M DONE WITH THE SUBJECT, WE CANNOT MAKE JOHN LEAVE FOR SOMETHING THAT HE MIGHT DO. I REALIZE YOUR CONCERN, AND I'M TELLING YOU WHAT I SEE, AND IT'S THAT HE IS NOT AN IMMEDIATE THREAT! THIS IS HOW I FEEL, AND I WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO CONTINUE TO BERATE ME ON THE SUBJECT. YOU HAVE YOU'RE OPTIONS AND THE REST IS UP TO YOU! HAVE A MAGICAL FUCKING DAY!

'Tis unfortunate that you chose to view another's first hand knowledge in in such a manner. I at no time said that based upon what YOU saw action should be taken, but you did say that based upon what I saw you felt it was best to leave him alone and do nothing. I'm sure you wouldn't leave a slippery spot where guests or cast members could slip on it, nor would you leave any machinery in an unsafe manner. For this reason, I found it hard to believe that such a cast member would advocate turning a blind eye to someone who's been observed attempting to molest a cast member. I see your point, that to you he appears harmless, but try to take another's viewpoint just as I am taking yours. Based solely on what I've seen, if you had no other knowledge of the guy, I'm certain you'd suggest that security watch the guy. Likewise, if I'd known nothing about him, I'd go along with the crowd.
I don't think much more of you than you apparently think of me, but I do understand where you're coming from, and I hope you'll take a deep breath, go back to my original post, and try to see what I was saying.
In any case, hatchet buried, no further thoughts.
If it is of any consolation, security watches him like a hawk. i've had at least three different security CMs show up at main street station, immediatly after him sowing up, one time it was either plainclothes security or APD, sut they actually entered the station, and waited until they were sure that the situation was safe before they left. (there were like 5 conductors, two radios, a family with a sizely Dad on one side of the station, and no body on the other (which john had chosen) and 911 within reach as always.) I do personally engage in conversation with him partly to make him feel like a guest, and also, at the risk of making myself sound like a bigger jerk, to make him uncomfortable, the same way all the girls feel about him, and the same way i felt before it was confirmed to me that he did indeed prefer the ladies (imagine me some youg guy, on his second day of training sitting alone in the station while my trainer was talking to the lead, and this creepy looking guy, walks into the station and starts looking around at everything like it was something to get off on. I did sit on my last post in this thread, and thought that i should at least add, that we do keep close watch on him, and he probly knows it, and that's probly why he doesn't seem to act up quite as much as he used to. Whatever the case, i'm sorry that i bore my teeth, we should probly call truce before Cujo locks the thread.

Like I said guy, hatchet buried. Glad you feel the same. I also used to give him the WORST customer service I could (challenged him when he asked for coffee refills, ignored any questions from him, and blocked him from passing thru stores where he wasn't supposed to be - he liked to "just pass thru" knowing he was making some girl feel uncomfortable).
Glad to hear also, that Security is watching him. But I'll still keep an eye out, and may someday just come by with a couple of friends and follow him around for a day, see what his usual day is like. He may not be doing the things I've seen him do, but I'd rather find a way to get him out permanently.
Oh, and BTW - in parades, back before he started trying to fondle the girls and was just known as a loser without a life, we nicknamed him, "Lampwick" after the Pinocchio character that he resembles.

Until a female cast member (god forbid this ever happens) has proof and presses charges sadly nothing can be done about John. Shame on anyone to give ANY guest poor service regardless of who or what they are like. GMC is right on many points as is everyone else.

i wouldn't recomend that, that's childish, rude and intolerant, not to mention liable to get you in trouble if he decided to raise a stink, he is one of our more well known regulars, and as creepy as he is, i'm sure measures would be done to satisfy him, and not to mention keep his lawyer mom (and dad?) off our backs. This isn't a place to bash, it's a place to talk about, stuff and more or less luagh about it, you've brought anger to my haven, and that will take some time for me to get over. If i ever see a CM or guest(s) bothering John, you can bet money that I will do something about it.

Before signing off I have to respond to the above. screenwriter, John/Smiley is supposedly mentally challanged. Did you not "get" this when you were a CM????? Does this not impact you now?? Ok, so Smiley hangs @ DLR often. Does this qualify him as a "loser without a life?" No, he was labeled a "loser" & not given the best guest service b/c you can't seem to show compassion to those with a disability. Thank God I'm able to accept others who might need extra help or just a smile. Hope I NEVER judge as critically & insensitively as you seem to. ALL Disney theme park CMs are taught to accept/be aware of our special needs guests. I'll not continue my rant. However, to all who are not Disney CMs - please, please realize Disney CMs welcome & happily assist guests with special needs. 99% of us would nor could ever make light of others who have a disability.

I hear you GMC - I wasn't advocating assault, just shadowing the guy a little better than security is able to do, and see if he has mellowed out. Remember what I've seen him do and the direct confrontations I've already had with him.
I agree, any guest attacking another guest is a bad thing, and you are right to take action against said guest to keep peace in the park (which is of course my desire as well).
Anyway, as you proposed earlier, I agree to drop this subject online. I understand that to the others here, John is a not well liked fellow, but nothing more. And as far as doing anything in the park, I'd never expose myself to possible action, having been a cast member for a good many years in many different locations.

Smiley was on pooh tonight. Had to load him. I don't seem to have a problem with him. Maybe its because I ignore him and don't let his creepy smile appear to get to me.
he was on the sweeper trip with me, he had his usual night. he is kinda creepy, but at least we know where he is when he's here.

Saw Smiley doing something very strange (take a wild guess) in the Mickey and Friends parking structure about 10PM tonight. It was rather disgusting.
After seeing me, he walked briskly with his denim jacket in tow over to the tram. He got in the very last seat in the very last car. What a surprise! He is one strange dude.

Wow...it's interresting how so many people know some of that same APs.
I know the story of Smiley but haven't actually seen him. Apparently, he likes Tommorrowland. A friend of mine is the one of the night leads at StarTours and apparently when he is in the park they rotate so that the guys are all outside and the girls are indoors away from him. They take his pass away from him when he does bad things, such as touching horses inappropriately and harrassing female cast members, but because he is mentally disabled, his Aunt is a lawyer and she has a field day every time Disney tries to take his pass away. In my opinion, it would be fine for him to come to the park, so long as he was escorted by a chapperone of some sort, whether family or whatnot.
Also, Robert, he is adorable. I say hi everytime he comes on the classics rides. He always sits in the front seat and he always pushes the back seat down so no one will sit there. He always has his little note pad, and he won't talk unless you are talking to him. When I was a new-hire, I too thought he was a mystery guest. It was the notepad!
BTW...anyone know Chester or Jason & Nancy? Chester is a strange guy, you'll often see him, usually during the summer, walking up and down Harbor Blvd in florescent colored short shorts usually a tank top and tennis shoes. He used to have curly, afro-esque hair, but now he's bald and he wears eye glasses with thick black frames. He comes up to Fantasyland Theater a lot and just sits at the front of the line and watches the show. He rarely ever comes in to the show. Apparently, talking to some other cast members, he claims to be one of the creative minds behind the Stitch character in Lilo&Stitch. Also, the rumor on the head set at the Theater is that he helped with some of the stage design and concept art for the Snow White Musical. Now how much of that is true is beyond me. He's definatley a character.
As for Jason and Nancy. They are my favorite APs. Jason is a mentally handicapped autistic kid. They are both asian. For the longest, we used to think that Nancy was his mother, but we found out through conversation with her that she is in fact the Nanny and that she takes him to Disneyland at the expense of the parents who buy the Passes and leave her in charge of him. You can see the love she has for Jason. They sometimes take naps on the benches by the ToonTown Train station. I also learned from Nancy that Jason doesn't like it when people scream, so she has to take him away from the big rides so that they don't scare him. They are wonderful, and if you ever see them, get to know them. At one point, Nancy brought us pies to thank us for our support and just for working there, and it was funny cuz they were smooshed and we found out that it was cuz she had to smuggle them past the bag check, cuz they wouldn't let her bring them into the park! Isn't that awesome!?!! We need more APs like them!

I know Robert from Knott's, I believe. He is a really nice guy, comes to see the Snoopy Ice show at least a few times a week, maybe every one. There were definitely some interesting Disneyland Annual Pass holders when I had my pass back in the early 80's through 1993. Does anybody remember Margaret or Bonnie or Big Al? Big Al is creepy, but Bonnie and Margaret were kind enough older ladies, and seemed nice to the CM'S at the park.

OMG, I know exactly who you are talking about! I used to work at Walt Disney Story/Mr. Lincoln and he would usually show up near closing time when the Park closed at 8. He would ALWAYS sit in the front row everytime and I would try my best to avoid him at any cost, especially after I heard about him doing un-Disneylike things including playing with himself! Other times I saw him was at Roger Rabbit, Space Mountain, and Star Tours. SCARY INDEED! :phil2:
Thank God he never came to Small World, lol!

CMs are extremely scrutinized as to how we respond & treat those who may seemingly need more help & friendliness then the average Guests.Yes, they are from an independent company. The company also monitors DTD and the restaurants of the hotels.

One of the last places I went to (I did these during a brief stint of unemployment, they are great then since you can schedule them around your job interviews) there was a really sweet young lady, extremely nice and friendly, but the company wanted to hear her use there 'slogans' and she didn't, and therefore I had to dock her major points.I know how ya feel! But the ones at the parks like Legoland and Six Flags don't even pay! You get a free tix for you and family, in exchange for the work. And the reports can sometimes take 1-2 hours.

Entire job, which usually takes much less than a hour. I've seen a couple that pay more, but they are rare.
Theres a few companies that help you out:

Also, here's a site that has lots of information about mystery shopping companies, how to get started, what the good companies (and bad ones) are, etc.
http://www.volition.com/forums/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=3
This is a link to the message boards on that site. You can access links to the companies themselves (usually including a brief description) at: http://www.volition.com/mysteryUSA1.html
And finally, a link to the official Mystery Shopping Providers Association) just to make sure I've fully beaten the dead horse): http://www.mysteryshop.org/
