When I came home, I immediately wanted to share with you what happened tonight that really pisses me off!!! So, as I was waiting for the second show of World Of Color, I was chatting with a mother when all of a sudden from the corner of my eye, I see this one SG sneak behind an unexpecting ODV CM and just STEAL two light swords and then turned around and full on sprinted away. There was a huge line of people, either a) they did not see what was going on or b) they did not want to do anything. This just made me really mad that someone without NO conscience can steal something that is really cheap!! I wanted to run and tackle him to the ground and just beat the shit out of him or just yell out "HEY!" loud enough to get EVERYBODY'S attention so that someone will call security or something. I did not know what I should do in this type of situation. Overall, this situation made me so freakin' angry that someone would do something like this!! I hope that one day Karma will come around and bite him in the ass and he'll get his comeuppance(sp?) that he truely deserves!!

Security wasn't nearby Dan? Paula - DS - was working WoC @ this time. You could have called Security # from cell if you have it. Hasn't changed. This happens in stores so often. Last week abt 30 pieces of essential equipment was stolen from cash wraps.Won't say what, but how the heck these items were unpluged & stolen from 3 lands still amazes & shocks me. The bold theft is increasing. The holidays will only bring out more of these _____.

Oh sigh. That means one of my fellow vendors got shorted $20. Bummer. :(
I can't stand guests who do that. I'm so paranoid about my cart and product for that exact reason. I don't let any of my displays out of my sight. They're all always in front of me. That way I can't have anyone sneak around me and take anything. It's all in front of my face.

Stuff like this is one of the reasons I didn't want merchandise when casting was asking my interests. (That and being my own rave before the Electrical Light Parade wasn't my thing).

Call security or alert a nearby Cast Member. Get a good look if you can of the shoplifter so you can give a detailed description. Try to notice something unusual about their appearance (i.e. a tatoo).
Whatever you do, don't tackle the theif. You don't know if they have a knife or a gun and you don't want to be kicked out of the park. It's not worth it. Let Security do their job.

No kidding. A friend was working securityat Macy's. Cruise job. He got offered a lot more money to work a discount store. Did things change.

He watched a guy go into a dressing room and stuff a bunch of shirts under his jacket. He stopped the thief at the door. Thief pulled a .38. My friend let him go but followed at a discrete distance. Thief gets into car, friend pulls out his 9mm and shoots out two tires. Thief surrendered to superior fire power.

ARGH this is EXACTLY the reason why nobody likes doing Glow carts! Stupid people that feel the need to steal! What's worse is that I've noticed a lot of Glow carts in DCA are in the direct center of the walkway--that's four sides that one cast member needs to cover! At least in DL they let us park against something--against a fence, a curb, a wall, etc.

I haven't done any glow carts (thank god), but I have used an apron before. It's such a pain in the ass. Some lady came up to me and began to pay, and she was from England. She kept going on and on, using all these bad words in front of her kid, about how our money doesn't have different colors. All the mean while I'm standing here in the sun, not caring about what she is saying, and just want to get away from her quickly as possible. Is it really that hard to READ the numbers on the bills?

Its really hard for a guest to do anything at any time that requires any IQ while @ a Disney Park.

And I'm not a fan of the glow cart in the center of a walkway either. But not all the glow carts are like that. Another hard one is the green mobile carts. It's a great idea, but I think it has its cons when it comes to theft too. All that product in one spot. Distract the one CM and *POOF* stolen glow.:(

Well, as far as I know, the only person they have depicted on British money is the Queen, so, when you consider it would be kind of difficult to tell one bill/note apart from the other.... Actually, I think most countries that have differant colors for differant denominations did it originally to assist the illiterate.

You could've pointed out that the one dollar bill has Washington on it, the five has Lincoln, the ten U.S. Grant, the twenty Andrew Jackson, I forget who's on the fifty, and Benjamin Franklin is on the hundred. As for the coins, Lincoln on the penny, Jefferson on the nickel, FDR on the dime, Washington on the quarter, I haven't seen a half dollar (do they still exist?) in decades; had Kennedy on it, and who's on the dollar coin depends on which one you have--either Susan B. Anthony or Sacajawea. It's not like they all look alike.

I think the Ten has Alexander Hamilton, but the fifty has U.S. Grant.

Interesting in theory Feline, but would describing all work for guests? NOT EVEN! They wouldn't listen, wouldn't comprehend, & waaay too much effort. ;)

Let's put it another way...

They pass HUGE arches that say "Walt Disney World".

Later, they pass HUGE signs saying "Magic Kingdom" on the road, but will repeatedly not understand that "Yes, you are in Disney World".

"No, Ma'am, Disneyland is in California...."

"Yes, Ma'am...Yes, Ma'am, you do need tickets to go to Universal...but we do not own them."

"Yes, Ma'am, Disney does not own Universal....YET".

"Yes, Ma'am ... Yes, Harry Potter is a very nice boy....No, he does not live at the Happiest Place on Earth...He lives at Hogwart's at UNIVERSAL"

[BTW, Happiest Place on Earth is UNIVERSAL when the genius cannot find her way there with her lil darling! ;) (OK OK I know only DL is Happiest Place on Earth -- but UNIVERSAL is thrilled not to meet clueless idiot I dealt with tonight. UGH)]
