The other day I was sitting at work looking over the refurbishment schedule for DCA. I quickly noticed that Super Star Limo had been taken off the list. A quick call over to Guest Relations confirmed that Super Star Limo had not been reopened but has been permanently closed.
I for one liked Super Star Limo. DCA is a park that is already quite barren of rides and shutting one down, even if it was a lame ride, was a really stupid idea. What do you guys think?

It didn't look like that bad of a ride. Oh well...maybe they have something else planned for that space. Or maybe it'll just sit there like the Sub Lagoon? Plus they have Tower...so they kinda...replaced Limo...okay I'm shutting up now.
I never rode it...but I saw a picture of the Regis figure in the ride once though. The thing looks like a friggin child molester.
But...um, yah. Never got to ride it. (Never really wanted to...)

I wanted to ride it at least once to see how bad it was. Unfortunetly it closed before I went to DCA for the first time.

I rode it.
It was that bad.
I told people who asked me not to bother with it, it was so bad.
Sorry to those who liked it.

Someone told me that when the current contract for "Millionairre" runs out, they'll tear it down and build Rock n Roller Coaster in the space where Millionairre, SS Limo, and that restaurant currently stand.
I hope it's true...

Now don't even get me started on the Sub Lagoon. Arrr! Anybody heard anything about its status? I thought Disney would announce something when they announced the plans for the 50th....nothing though.
I too had heard that Disney had been given the ok to build the rockin roller coaster on the sites of Super Star Limo and Millionare. You have to wonder though when that might actually be done....they just spent a fortune on Tower.

^ Dude, if you wanna go ahead and try and get those Subs running, be my guest. My bet is after them sitting in there for so long, hell...The engines have probably seized over.
That'd be pretty neat to have a Rockin Roller Coaster here. Never ridden one before. Saw it on TV once though...

Well for the subs, they did a rehab on the engines not to long ago, about 6 months ago or so. That is what I heard, I also heard that at the same time they began working on the show building trying to get it into shape. I think what might have happened is that finding Nemo turned out to be a greater success than they might have originally thought and they probably sent everything back to the drawing board to get a different theme. I think it was going to be something about the Little Mermaid but then after nemo they probably thought that Nemo would be a better theme for the subs, who knows maybe 2006 will bring something.

When they built that elevator for Monorail, they narrowed part of the pathway through the dock. I don't think they can drive a sub through there anymore.
When the subs made that first right turn (through the dive bubbles), the tail of the subs would fishtail way over to the left. That fishtail area - at the base of the elevator - is now filled with concrete.

So much for the amazing return of the Disneyland sub fleet....thanks a lot Dante!

They could still probably make it work. I don't know how much of that concrete around the base of the elevator is necessary, and how much they'd have to chip away.

I can see the headlines now:

I for one liked the superstar limo too! maybe i'm lame but i thought it was at least KINDA cool....i mean it was better than empty space. my favorite was that weird greasy agent guy..... but the rockin roller coaster looks neat too i saw it on tv a couple weeks ago it seemed like fun

"The weird greasy agent guy" lol :D
I could never figure out if he was a puppet or computer generated. No matter what though...he was creepy.[/quote]

He and his fellows are puppets. The heads are made from old pantyhose stuffed with ... I know not what. There was briefly a TV show (or a segment of one) that featured them a few years back. Can't remember the designer or the shows name right now -- I've got CRS from spending the whole freaking day filling Squeeze Breezes.

I kinda did like Super Snore Lame-O, in all its mediocre glory...probably because it made me laugh.
I would LOVE to see something happen with that corner of deadness besides Hollywood & Dine being used for private parties.
A Rockin' Roller Coaster sounds super-cool. I've never been on one.
...but what about the monorail track smack in the middle of everything? Can that be accomodated?

I'm sure they'd try to work around the monorail beam. They can move the beam over a bit if they like, but it gets expensive moving those pylons, as they found out when constructing Indy.
I'm just guessing here, but I'd think they'd locate the show building where the restaurant was/is, and the limo/millionairre space would be the queue and preshow area. I don't know. It's been a while since I've been over there so I'm having trouble getting a mental picture of the area.
It'd be kinda cool if the monorail was incorporated into Rock 'n' Roller Coaster - like if it went right through the middle of the show building.

I have also heard the same thing. Of course what they will be saving on Millionare....

I heard that the space where StupidStar was, will be replaced w/ a Monsters Inc attraction. Is that true?

That was an idea they were tossing around a while back along with some other ideas. I don't think it'll happen.
whatever they do, it should be a ride, they've got all kinds of show attractions, but nothing in the Thrill department, besides, tower(for hollywood) and screamin, the Grizzly river whatever is pretty cool too, but there aren't too many E-ticket attractions over there.

and of course

We won't even mention Animal Kingdom's Radio Disney Cruises ... the only attraction ever to score a guest approval rating with a negative percentage.

Heh. I did, too. Fun times.
My favourite part about Superstar Limo, though, was when they'd take your picture, you didn't know it was happening. You just thought it was lights. And then when they showed you your picture, you had this totally confused look on your face. Reminds me of Shrek. Damn near the only time when I wished they were selling those pictures. At least they should post them all online. What a laugh....

I would call Soarin' a thrill ride too. 100%. Your are right not too many E-tickets at DCA.

I figured out where the camera was on that ride and I wondered if the pictures were monitored since they weren't sold. Never got the chance to find out....

I heard that Matt Ouimet wants the next ride at DCA to be an E-ticket with no height restriction. For example, Pirates is (or at least was) considered an E-ticket and there's no height restriction.

That would be cool. Have you seen the Stroller Farm in front of Tower? It's Rider Switch Pass Heaven!
i hate explaining the switch passes, too much for the guests to process.

Most of them can't even grasp the concept of FP, let along switch passes.

How do you think I feel at Star Tours explaining rider switch when the switch happens inside the cabin. I'd have to say that about 70% of the guests leave the cabin and have no idea where the rest of the party goes eventhough they are walking into the cabin right behind them.
millionaire's bldg is going to stay... it wont be demolished and then remember Hollywood and Dine will stay because they use the kitchen still. for fudge I believe plus they using the bldg for special events and whatnot... Millionaire bldg is also used for special events besides the show... it'll be missed!
im sorry, having a game show attraction featuring one of my least favorite hosts, of all time, really bothered me. the holloywood area of the park had me very disappointed upon my fist visit, i can only hope that it gets better.
