checking belts and this lady, maybe in her 50's, is about to ride and has her family of older persons (ie. 25+ including her grandson whom she sat with, her daughter, her son-in-law, her husband, and few other random people.) she is wearing a skirt and a light blue top. i think nothing except that her daughter who is wearing jeans was a genuine milf. i assumed this grandmother was quite a catch in her day to have such a pretty daughter whom is prolly in her late 30's early 40's. this group begins boarding and once the group is settled and looking for seatbelt which i am holding but distracted, i look down to hand the belts to the woman and her grandson when i see what seems to be PUBIC HAIR! i look away in disgust and in an attempt to clarify what i may have seen i look once again. sure enough this lady was wearing no underwear when she damn well should have been! you know what was most interesting though? well i'll tell ya. she still trimmed her pubic hair as if she were still 20 years old. i dunno man, she kinda ruined all prospects of having a hard-on for maybe a year er so.
what about your crazy stories.. i know you have a damn good one just itcing to be told..

An octogenarian woman comes in alone. Not having anything better to do, I try to strike up a conversation by saying, "So, you're a big Tigger fan, are you?"
"Why, yes I am! How on earth did you know?"
I just smiled and said, "Magic!" I couldn't bring myself to tell her that her white shorts were so thin and tight that I could see dancing Tiggers all over her butt. Ick.

Saw my fair share of panties and non-panties standing at dispatch on Thunder as the short skirts went by, but for the most part I was pleased by the quality of the girls. (Yes I was a pervert, yes, " was" means still am)
Hmm, worst thing I ever saw that I should not have seen was a late evening on Mark Twain. I was in the wheelhouse and bored as hell since there were VERY few people on the boat. One of those nights where no one is coming on board and you try to delay the start of the ride but you gotta eventually just go and do a slow lazy run. ANYWAYS, there were maybe 5-7 people up at the top deck, all facing forward and a few people scattered throughout the boat. I hear the door open that leads up to the wheelhouse and figure it's the bowman coming up to chat. Nothing happens for about 5 minutes so I peek my head down the the hatch and what do I see?
a couple that were in their 50's...the man is sitting on the bed....the wife on her knees....remember that my vantage point was from above....THE HORROR...THE HORROR!
I didn't know what to do, so I started stomping around and whistling upstairs and they realized where I was and quickly left. You better believe I avoided eye contact as they left the ship!

I can think of one day coming back to the Mansion from my lunch break and heading for the door 2 entrance (sort of under the side queue) just in time to see this woman lean her kid over to vomit over the rail into our little hidden outdoor walk :o

My friend, Jamie and I were running late for the Elvira show that night but we were lucky enough to find to seats right next to the catwalk about two rows from the front. About halfway through the show, Elvira came out wearing a dress with a split down the side to expose her legs. Then Jaime pointed out something peculiar. Elvira was wearing no underwear! I wasn't sure how she could tell till I looked up and got great view of her bush. Elvira doesn't shave apparently.

This didn't happen to me personally, but it was told to me by a very good friend. This friend was working Matterhorn one summer day and he was loading guests. A European family was getting in and the father was wearing the previously mentioned type of shorts. From what I was told the dude's whole "sack" was hanging completely out of the leg of his shorts  . Talk about scary. And he didn't even know.

That's the one good thing about Grad Nights. When the kids disgust you, you can require that they come with you to the Chaperone Center. Most of them think getting stood up in front of a room full of guidance counselors and parents while you recite their behavior is the worst thing in the world.
Until their own school's counselor recognizes them and invites them to spend the rest of the night there ... playing Canasta! AIIIIII!!!! http://mitglied.lycos.de/galaxystrike/smilies/77.gif

An Asian family of 4 (mom, dad, sister, brother) were up in a corner on the deck by Hoot 'n Holler. Mom and dad proceed to strip the kids down buck-nekkid and have them change from their normal clothes into bathing suits, so that they can play in the little 'stream' in front of Hibernation Hollow.
Me: Umm, there are bathrooms located right outside the exit that you could have used to change instead...

Yeah, no it's not...

The rope nets are directly above this area, and usually we'll look up from time to time to make sure nobody's getting body slammed or anything. My friend heard some commotion from above, and looked up. He saw these two (very attractive) teenage girls walking on the nets, wearing tank tops, sandals and miniskirts. Whoops, did I mention any underwear? Nope. Why not? They weren't wearing any. He turned bright red; he was actually kind of embarrassed. I've never seen anyone try to hide in their hat and pretend they really weren't standing there as much as he did at that moment.
It did lead to a very funny conversation with Chip and Dale about women with skirts and underwear-less wonders walking the nets. Heh...

I was introduced to Smiley one night by my lead when I first started working my attraction. She pointed him out and told me to make sure he wasn't being too "happy" inside the ride, as she had dealt with him making himself "happy" in other rides as well as making the poor horse on Main Street "happy". He is a seemingly mentally-handicapped individual who frequently visits the park by himself..always dressed the same...always smiles the same....is always Smiley.

oh my...what would PETA say about his making the horses happy...
Thought of this other couple over at Pirates. They had been pretty active throughout the ride. The lead had left the location and left me "in charge" and the lift was stuck, and I happenned to be in the tower and couldn't see them on any of the monitors. I was kind of worried that they'd gotten out and I knew they were around utility 2, so I had the guy on unload (late at night, we only needed one) go over and take a peek over the fence next to the lift. He comes running back doubled over with one hand over his mouth trying not to laugh out loud...he grabs the intercom and tells me that their boat was stuck on the lift (still stuck...several minutes had gone by at this point-we were way backed up with another problem) and she was laying down in the front row with her pants down around her ankles while her date was ummmm...manually servicing her. Well, my big guy from load had gone over to drop one and managed to unstick the boat that was backing us up upstairs, so we got everyone cycling again and the loving couple's boat came back in to the station. They were back in row 2 where we had seated them in the first place and just sitting there like they were on a route ride in Fantasyland with a million people watching them. I told their witness on the unload dock that he had to hand them a pro-towel as they got out of the boat - which he did. As they kind of looked at him funny, I'm sure they knew why... :pbjtime:

Iused to dread closing a ride alone. UP until about five years ago, you would close Snow White, Toad, Pinnocchio, and Alice by yourself. I would dread the days when people said they saw Smiley, Because somehow he came on the ride where I was by myself EVERY time! How did he do that?!?!?!
SweetAurora
06-18-2004, 12:28 PM
That's another thing, Susi. I know personally that he sometimes "stalks" attractions girls....! Duh duh DUHHH.
It's pretty subtle though. For instance, I almost NEVER see him at our ride if there's not a lot of girls working. I think he can tell as he walks by ::shudders::
He'll usually go on my ride and if he likes the girls that are there, he comes on again up to 4 or 5 times. A friend of mine who works in Toontown actually had him following her on different occasions, and another friend of mine has actually had him try to talk to her (he never talks to anyone) but he's supposedly always sneaky about it. I guess he's sneaky about EVERYTHING.
And btw, Smiley threw a FIT on our ride last week..it was awesome. :pbjtime:

I LOVE Robert!! He just came on our ride a couple of days ago, and was saying he was going to take pictures because it was his "500th" time on the ride (actually...it's almost ALWAYS his 500th time on the ride.... Robert always goes around with a notebook, takes note of what day it is, what ride he's on, and which cast members are working. He's always very sweet and polite and never is a bother to anyone! We love him!!
Speaking of, Smiley visited us tonight after a 2 week-hiatus (after throwing a fit and throwing his drink at our feet after we told him he couldn't take it on the ride). What does smiley look like, because I have seen a guy in the park numerous times who looks mentally retrarded, and has a backpack, and a red name tag, but I don't think that is smiley?
so my question is what does smiley look like, for personal reference?
I was introduced to Smiley one night by my lead when I first started working my attraction. yeah, Simely's name is John (jon?) whatev, so it's my night training on steam trains, i'm at train central (turnstyle) so this guy in a disney jackets comes up the steps, can see his face, then he gets to the turnstyle...
OMG why didn't the trainer tell me he'd be there, he walked around the station looking at things, ... with lust, ew, and being the noob that i was/am ask "is there anything i can help you with?"
"no, ...no, there's nothing you can help me with."
at which point i stopped fearing for my carnal treasures, and relaxed, a bit.
so a week or so ago, i decide to be nice, and talk to him, so i bump the female condutor of her the sweep run and take up the seat in front of him. and as a sign of good faith, extend my hand and introduce myself, forgetting where that hand may have been on the Poo(h) ride... he reluctanly introduced himself, "i'm jon" so i ask him politly:
"so i see you around here alot, i assume ur an AP, do you work around here as well?"
"well, no i usually just stay home and watch tv"
"oh, well :?, that's cool, so do you come to the park every day"
"pretty much, i didn't come on monday tho, i went and payed repsects to regan"
"cool"
he was much better than..." we got into a mild presidential conversation, about how i almost got hit by lighting watching Nixon's hurse travel the 55north/91 east interchange blah blah
oh and he informed me that laser pointers are not allowed in the resort at any time, and can result in removal from the park, and in his case a two week suspention, harsh, even for him..,
oh i also found out he got fired from sav.on for touching himself in ways he shouldn't have been at work....

HAHAHAHAHA, i was there that night, he told My lead all about it, and she stood about five feet away the whole time, i was very proud of her bravery, one of you pooh girls was walking to me about it later on in the shuttle to k-lot, anyway he was very unhappy on the sweep trip, and declared at least once "I'm Mad/angry at the winne the pooh" or whatever. i think that was the same night i talked to him... i wonder if i'll get a guest compliment out of that conversation, probly not, i'm a guy, and that's not his realm, thankfully, then agian the horse...:?

He would come up while I was at greeter and always start talking to me so then I figured I would start playing 20 questions with him. I found out a lot of things about him. Why he was fired from the movie theater, why he was fired from this place or that place. The answer always seemed to be the same. Ew. Ew ew ew.
He really doesn't come around the FL rides alot but I've been working days. I'm sure now that I'm working nights again I'll have the pleasure/torture of seeing him again.

I know this isn't at DL (Haven't fully looked through the site) but when I used to work at Golden Age next at Sounds Dangerous at the Studios here in Orlando...We'd see couples go into the post show area (Small rooms with same premise at the SD show) and come out like 30 mins later (Rooms are small, semi-dark and no one really goes in there anyways).
Along the same line of the topic. Was on Space Mnt at MK and overheard a girl say to her boyfriend "This is just like riding you". Needless to say I started laughing my ass off...dunno why though.

Okay, since someone else already resurrected the thread, I've got an addition... :D:
A co-worker of DH's (CW for short) just got back from a WDW trip with his wife and kids. So, DH asks CW how the trip was, since DH did most of the planning and reservations for him and wanted them to have a good time.
CW replies that the trip was fabulous until we hit that "resort day" that DH had suggested. (DH had recommended taking a day off midweek to rest and swim, etc.) After that, he says, the trip was horrible. DH asks why, wondering where he went wrong in his planning.
Turns out that there was a Brazilian tour group of teenage girls at the hotel where they were staying (one of the All-Stars, can't remember which). Seems the young ladies loved to swim...but didn't love having to wear a swimsuit...so they went topless in the pool whenever they could.
CW loved it. Unfortunately, his wife caught him loving the view, so they ended up having a huge fight and she didn't speak to him for the rest of the trip. ;) Gotta love it!

First, regarding couples confusing "family-friendly" with "friendly to attempting to start a family": I first thought that maybe making it clear that there were several cameras, and that even out-of-the-way places might not be unobserved, might help. Then I realized that, for some of these people, the idea someone might see them is part of the thrill. Scratch that idea...
Second, regarding public breast feeding: I don't want to spark a debate on if it is appropriate or not, but I seem to recall at least at one point Florida had a law that stated that women had the right to breast feed in public. Be that as it may, I still think that it is not good manners. Yes, it may be a "natural function" and such, but so is going to the bathroom, yet most people understand they shouldn't do that in public as well. I would also like to say I'm all in favor of places having "baby care" areas, so that mothers do have a nice, safe, clean place to take care of such activities.

Florida had and still has a law allowing women to breastfeed in public.
Florida Statute 383.015 Section 1: (http://www.leg.state.fl.us/statutes/index.cfm?App_mode=Display_Statute&Search_String=&URL=0300-0399/0383/Sections/0383.015.html)
A mother may breastfeed her baby in any location, public or private, where the mother is otherwise authorized to be, irrespective of whether the nipple of the mother’s breast is uncovered during or incidental to the breastfeeding.
And for completeness; California Civil Code 43.3 (http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/displaycode?section=civ&group=00001-01000&file=43-53)
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a mother may
breastfeed her child in any location, public or private, except the
private home or residence of another, where the mother and the child
are otherwise authorized to be present.

Some non-mammals give live birth. Some species of sharks, including the great white, and all rays give birth. It's not like mammalian birth; it's oviviparous, which means egg cases are still involved. The babies hatch while the cases are still inside the mother. (A newborn ray is INSANELY CUTE. They come out rolled up like a cannoli!) Oh and guppies, which are ray-finned fish and possibly closer to Ariel than sharks are, give live birth. OH and so do coelacanths! Which was news to me. I heart coelacanths. Pretty little lobe-finned fish. (Unrelated to the live-birth thing, we are more closely related to coelacanths than we are to any ray-finned fish - that is, our common ancestor with coelacanths is more recent than our common ancestor with the ray-finned fishes.)
And of course some not-quite-mammals lay eggs - the monotremes: the platypus and the spiny echidna.
</bionerd>
As for Ariel, since she has hair and presumably milk-producing breasts, she's probably a mammal. It's a good bet that she's warm-blooded, too.

Ugh, this happened to a poor kid in middle school gym. Climbing the rope in his shorts...his boys swinging in the breeze. Unfortunately, the other kids were not exactly politely silent about the whole thing.

I've seen a couple of ladies breast feeding while I was working. Once was at a merchandise cart, but she was in a area where there weren't many people, so I didn't say anything. Then there was a lady at load, breast feeding a kid. She didn't say anything, but she wasn't going to ride. I asked her if she wanted to go to the exit, and she just stares at me. I take her down the exit, and the whole time she never speaks a word, stares at me, and lets her baby do it's thing. It was awkward.

While I think that breastfeeding in the middle of a loading area is bizarre and unnecessary, and I think that women who whip all their business out without any regard for those around them are crude and looking for a fight - I will say that I breastfed my baby everywhere *but* the baby care centers when we were at WDW a few weeks ago. With 3 kids (ages 9, 5, and 10 months) and 2 parents, it was absolutely ridiculous to think that I could hike my way over to a baby care center every time I needed to feed the baby.
However, I am very, very discreet when I nurse. I have absolutely no desire to flash any passersby. I can't tell you how many ride exits I sat and nursed while my husband took the older two on the ride. Mission:Space, Dinosaur and Expedition Everest come to mind. Though at Dinosaur and Everest, I was just sitting outside, not *at* the ride exit.
I think it's really easy for people to have the "just go to the baby care center" attitude when they don't actually have kids and have never been faced with the decision to either A: nurse where you are or B: haul a screaming, hungry baby all the way across the park just so that you don't offend anyone by feeding them in public. I mean, at Mission:Space, for instance, my son had woken up just as I entered the exit area and he was screaming bloody murder because he was exhausted. So my choices were to nurse him there or hike over to the baby care center while he screamed his little heart out. Not only would that have been impractical for the obvious reasons, but it also would've caused all sorts of problems once the rest of my family got off the ride as my cell phone had died so my husband would've had no way of finding me. So, I sat on the bench right outside the exit, positioned the stroller in front of me and fed the baby.
I am definitely not one of those women who goes to "nurse ins" and insists on putting breastfeeding pictures on the internet. I much prefer to breastfeed in the comfort of my own home. Unfortunately, life - especially life with 3 kids - doesn't always allow for that, so I do my best to feed the baby wherever I am without making anyone around me uncomfortable.
All that to say - I think women who are discreetly breastfeeding (in a sensible place, not in a loading area ) should be left alone and those crazy "whip it out for the world to see!" women should be ushered off to a baby care center. I just hate that all breastfeeders are lumped together into exhibitionist category. Some of us just want to feed our babies whenever and wherever they're hungry and not be noticed.
During seven years at the MK, I never once had a problem with anyone breastfeeding. The mothers were uniformly discreet, and it would have been hard to take offense even had I wanted to.
I did have a few occasions where I had trouble with guests who had trouble with such breastfeeding. Both times, I reminded them that Florida law permits breastfeeding anywhere the mother and child are permitted to be -- which really shocked a few of them.
One said that if I wasn't going to do something, that she would. I then offered to summon an Orange County Deputy to assist her. Silly woman agreed to wait, and the deputy then explained the law to her again, and promised to haul her away in handcuffs if she gave the mother so much as a glare!
It was fun, but I should have gotten hazardous duty pay for being so close to a nuclear meltdown!

Wow. I cannot believe someone actually waited for law enforcement to come and explain the breastfeeding law to her. That is absolutely insane. Could she not find something better to do with her time while in Disney World? Really?! And the fact that breastfeeding offends her to that level is just astonishing. Honestly, I just can't comprehend it.
I was actually fairly stressed about the prospect of nursing and touring Disney World at the same time, but it ended up being a total non issue. I nursed the baby everywhere - restaurants, gift shops, ride exits, monorails, buses, boats, trains and even on rides without so much as a sideways glance from anyone. And I know for a fact that everyone on our Pirates boat enjoyed the ride much more with a nursing mother than they would've with a screaming infant!

As I mentioned before in this thread, I am not unsympathetic to mothers who choose to breast-feed their babies. I can also understand that they can't always choose when their child will get hungry, and that breast-feeding is a "natural act".
However, that being said, I still feel that the mother should try to make some effort to be discrete. Personally, I think that the Florida and California laws tends to go a bit too far in its attempt to protect the mother's right to breast-feed, though that might just be me.

I have a child and I breastfed her. She had no problem with a blanket over her, it was by no means suffocating her. I think covering up (more so in some places than others) is simply the polite thing to do, not because one should be ashamed of a natural function, but because you may be bringing on questions from a child to their parent that they're not ready to answer yet. I feel it's rude to force that kind of conversation on a parent whom you do not know at all just because you feel you have a right to do whatever you want.

Well none of my babies tolerated blankets being over their heads. They just thrashed around and ripped them off and I usually ended up flashing people in the process. However, I (always!) have a camisole on under my shirt, which covers my back and belly, then I pull my shirt down so that it covers everything from the baby's mouth up to my neck, so there is literally not one inch of flesh showing. I don't feel the need to use a blanket to cover because, at that point, the only thing it would cover would be the baby's head, and what's the point in that?
I'm forced to have conversations with my kids all the time that I don't want to have. Yesterday a neighbor kid called another kid "gay wad" and I had to discuss hate speech with my 9 and 5 year old. A few weeks ago we drove by a bill board with a half naked woman on it and I had to discuss that with my 5 year old who asked why people want to look at woman in her underwear. It happens. It's life. I can't keep my kids in a bubble and by putting them out there in the world, I'm guaranteed that they will hear or see things that force me to talk to them about subjects that I'd rather not discuss at that time. And I will never understand why people think that kids shouldn't know about breastfeeding. I don't get it - at all. Why should a child not know that women - like every other mammal - produce milk for their young? It's not sexual, it's biological.

I am not arguing that breast-feeding isn't a "natural process". It is. However, it is irrelevant, as there are several other "natural processes" that the law does not allow one to engage in in public normally. That the mother is not attempting something sexual in nature is, also, irrelevant. Many nudist would also say that being sans clothing should not be taken as being something sexual in nature. They are still subject to laws dealing with indecent exposure.
It is all well and good to talk about the virtues of breast-feeding, and how it is a wonderful act of a mother with a long historical tradition. However, while I don't think there should be anything like a ban on it, I think the laws that were quoted go too far in there attempt to protect breast-feeding mothers. For example, I do believe a business has a right to ask a breast-feeding mother to be considerate of their other customers and be discrete when feeding their child. If it is a question of it being difficult to find places where one can breast-feed a child while out-and-about, perhaps we need to have laws similar to ones that require that businesses of a certain size provide certain facilities such as bathrooms.
I don't think a person who is uncomfortable with someone public breast-feeding is necessarily a "prude", any more than the mother should be labeled an "exhibitionist".

You are making an attempt at covering, that's completely different than those whom I've seen who literally just pull it out and flash the world (and sometimes with children who are way too old to be breastfeeding, but that's a whole other topic).
And yes, I realize that forced conversations happen all the time and I feel that in the case of other children forcing those conversations onto you are the case of bad parenting. The problem with not covering while breastfeeding and that conversation being forced on someone is that too many people view it as sexual. I realize it's not and it shouldn't be, but for too many people in this world, it becomes a sexual conversation. And honestly, sometimes it'll forced to be a sexual conversation because of the world we live in. They probably have a lot less problems with this kinda thing in other countries where sex isn't a bad word.

I think that you've hit the nail right on the head. And I think the level of discretion with it does vary depending on the place you're at.

I totally agree with you that whipping it out and flashing the world is unnecessary and rude. It's just not that hard to cover up in some form - whether with a blanket or with a shirt or what have you. And if you can't breastfeed discreetly (as I wasn't able to do with my youngest due to some issues he had with latch in the beginning), then you need to find a private place to nurse. I 100% agree with that. My feathers only get in a ruffle when people have an issue with *all* public nursing - even the discreet kind.

We're totally on the same page. I have no issue with public nursing and did it, pretty much everywhere, it's when people are not discreet about it that it gets to me.

In a town down by the airport they passes some sort of ordinance restricint breastfeeding in public of children older than two. There was a lot of hoo-haw and a sit in of some sort of breastfeeing women. But most of them were UNDER 2 and wouldn't be covered by the law. It's also in line with language in other similar ordinances in the surrounding area.
I always covered mine with a blanket or towel caused it helped them focus. If they were uncovered, they got too distracted looking around and not finishing up.

I used to play this game with our little ones. I'd wait until they were latched on, then try and make them laugh or look away.
Would drive the wife nuts. (Of course this was only in the house - outside or at the parks, she would cover with a jacket or blanket. A lot of times, you couldn't even tell she was nursing).

I had a lady on my boat once who was one of those who just whipped it out for all to see to breastfeed her child who was approximately 4 or 5.

Yes, wonder if it is legal or child abuse at a certain age:confused:They had to have some sort of workaround, so he didn't actually see anything. I mean, they can kill all sorts of animals on the screen without harming them, this should be easy. Use a camera distance and zoom lens, and he could have been 20 feet away. Or, green screen...
That, or he was still going to Mom for the milk...

That would be the Blazing Saddles theory of breastfeeding. "Excuse me while I whip this out..."
I don't have a problem seeing a woman's whole breast. If that's the only problem I have for the day, then that would be a pretty excellent day for me. But, in a public place like Disney or an airport, there are a lot of diverse populations that are not as comfortable seeing the entire breast exposed. It's considerate to others that you try to be discrete.
To be fair, I also have the same issue with some of the public displays of affection I see in public from both heterosexual and homosexual couples. There's kissing, and then there's "get a room."

Have you seen Kick Ass? I'm surprised at what they make kids do, but in reality, Hollywood doesn't care as long as they make money from it.
On the other hand, do you know Quagmire (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kEMHTAb25Y)? Giggity.

I am not ready to condemn the whole of the entertainment industry quite yet. I'm not say that their are not unscrupulous types out there. Of course there are. I'm just not convinced that such attitudes are the rule rather than the exception. Not to mention...well, considering that movies have people watching and making sure they can't even step on cockroaches as part of a scene, I am dubious as to someone getting away with anything too outrageous with a child.

Good reminder that rudeness is legal - and to some extent, should be. With a lot of stuff there needs to be a fairly large space between what's comfortable and what's illegal, true of both PDA and breastfeeding. I've seen cases of teenagers making out where it's "get a room," but OTOH when hubby was in the military I saw the same sort of activity between people who'd been separated for a good long while and just smiled, because I knew them well enough to know they'd honestly forgotten where they were (I admittedly have low tolerance for PDA :p: ).
I feel the same way about the idiots who flaunt their breasts and the women who want to be discrete and the fates are against them (kid pulls something out of the way and mom doesn't notice or whatever). Any law that forbids the first makes the second criminal.

I think that it's situational. What's appropriate at the night club is probably not appropriate for Disney.
Many people don't have the situational awareness to adjust their behavior accordingly. I don't know whether that's a outcome of the "self-esteem" movement where nobody wants to inhibit their child's creativity, or what. I am very careful to pay attention even at work to where I am. Depending on what department I am working in, or even who I am working with, I will adjust my actions and demeanor. Something I would do in my department, I would never do around senior management. The same thing in my social life.
My grandfather always told me "You may not know anyone in the crowd you're in, but someone might know YOU." I always keep that in mind. I behave in public as if someone I don't know, but knows me, might see me and tell my grandfather what I was up to. If it would be embarrasing, I try not to do it.
If someone told my grandfather I was sitting breast feeding my kid, I'd be okay with that. If someone told him I was "flashing my highbeams" at people, I'd be embarrased.

For me it's all about manners, which are (to quote the movie "Blast from the Past") "to make others around you as comfortable as possible". I know public breastfeeding makes others uncomfortable, so I try to be discreet and cover up or go somewhere that others won't be. But I also realize that a crying baby would be disturbing as well, so I don't want to NOT feed. Sort of a Catch-22.
If someone told my grandfather I was sitting breast feeding my kid, I'd be okay with that. If someone told him I was "flashing my highbeams" at people, I'd be embarrased.
And I'm ALWAYS telling my kids that "no matter where you are, chances are SOMEONE is going to be around that knows your mother and will rat you out."

For me it's all about manners, which are (to quote the movie "Blast from the Past") "to make others around you as comfortable as possible".
My mother always taught me that manners were about making others comfortable, so all you needed to do was "do what you would prefer in that place" but that bit of advice is a lot less useful for those of us with strong autistic tendencies. What makes me comfortable is, alas, not what most people want. :p:
The Golden Rule still applies, but it's in the sense of being considerate of other people's preferences rather than just doing what you yourself would prefer. So while mom would just ask herself, "What would I want in their place?", I have to ask, "what do most people want in their place?" Which requires research and then sometimes you still don't always know, because most people aren't all people.
My parents taught me a lot of stuff by sheer example, but mom eventually realized that she had to sit down and parse out daily manners. :p: Manners should be about making others more comfortable, but in functional terms they're more about making things go more smoothly -- knowing whether to go left or right when approaching someone is a skill I appreciated a lot more after living in Korea (where veering left is the social standard).

I completly agree about thinking of others. Not just what's easiest for YOU, but what makes things easiest for OTHERS. For instance, my WDW bathroom manner that I had to teach my daughter is go the furthest open stall not the closest open stall. It makes it easier for the folks behind you to find the next stall and then they don't have to walk past you. Seems trivial, but it can really make things run so much smoother. I still do that in every large public restroom I go into even if it isn't crowded and/or no one's in line behind me.
Another great example is my MIL always wants to make sure that no one is hungry. So she is ALWAYS asking can she get you something to eat or presses you to take seconds at dinner. Even after you've politely refused, she kind of presses the point until you've refused several times. That's sort of negative example. She should certainly offer once, but if you refuse, then she doesn't need to keep asking. It's what's comfortable for ME - no thanks mom not hungry (when maybe it's just that I'm still (forever) dieting).
We just need to do our best to make things easier for others and hope that they are doing the same for us.

place: Fantasyland Skyway
position: dispatch
A man in his 70's, maybe 80's, gets into a bucket with a woman in her early 20's. The minute the bucket dispatched the woman drops out of sight and it swings forward as it hooked the cable and I saw her going to town on the old boy. Eck!
I called the spotter in Materhorn and T-sky and they were similarly grossed out/fascinated/jealous. An unusual mix of emotions.

Now, I'm not going to comment on the relative ages of the couple in question, though I can understand how the disparity might add to one's "squick" factor. I have a sinking feeling that they did what they did, where they did, not because they thought it was hidden, but because someone might actually catch them. The thrill of the danger at being discovered and all that.
I take it these two got to meet a member or two of the security staff when they arrived at the Tomorrowland station?
