True Story:

I was working in the Castle Christmas Shop (when it was the CCS), and I had a female guest walk up to me and demand, "Where's the Castle?"

Me, lightly: Well, if you'll step outside and look up...
FG: No, the other castle.
Me, slightly puzzled: It's a Small World?
FG: No, the other castle.
Me: Um, Florida? (Don't you love the things that pop out before you can stop them?)
FG: NO. I mean the Other Castle.
Me: Ma'am, I don't -
FG: There is another castle at this park. I am supposed to meet my daughter there.
Me: Well, there is a small castle at Storybook...

I think that's where she ended up going.

I think this conversation was the biggest WTF moment I ever had at the park.

The only excuse I can think of is she had a debilitating neck disease that restricts the motion in her neck from looking up, and a glaucoma spot on her eyes blinds her from seeing all castles. HOLY POOP ON TOAST!!!! LOOK UP, YOU STUPID WOMAN!!! :bang:

I was chatting with a fellow cast member & she remembered about a week ago she was working at the candy cart in New Orleans when a guest approached her. The guest asked where the Tiki Room was. She gave perfect directions & pointed towards Adventureland. The guest looked at her in bewilderment as if she was giving her the wrong directions. The guest decided to walk towards the Christmas shop in New Orleans. The cast member stopped the guest right as she headed that direction & told her she would not get to the Tiki Room if she continued in that direction. The guest replied, So when did they move the Tiki Room? The cast member just looked in amazement :o & told the guest it has always been in the same place. The guest said, "funny, I was just here last week & it wasn't over there!"?:? Guest turned around & headed toward the Tiki Room.

Jedi! I've worked with you before. :D

Don't you just love when people do that! I've had that happen so many times...I just shrug and smile...knowing they'll be back for more directions.

A fellow cast member told me that she was coming back from lunch yesterday from behind pooh corner & a guest came up & asked her what time the firworks were. Mind you, they were already 5 minutes into the show & still going off. The cast member says, "Do you see those lights up in the sky, that would be them. The guest looked surprised :o & ran as fast as they could to catch them. How could they not hear them or see them? Makes you wander!

I was coming out of the stockroom for Owl Photo tonight when a guest passed by me. She had just come off of Splash Mountain & was telling the person on the other end of her cell phone that she just got off the ride. I go about stocking Owl Photo for a good 20 minutes & she was still standing in the same corner all that time still on her cell phone & then asks me, " Is this the exit to Splash Mountain :?: " Come on people :!:
Maybe she had short term memory loss :?:

i was walking to my location across main street and a guest approached me asking me why is the castle covered in a blue tarp. i expalined to her about the refurbishment going on for the 50th and she got upset saying it was unfair to her and the rest of the people coming from around the world and see that and she demanded her money back. i sent her to city hall and told her to put in her complaint in and she said she'd do that and put in a complaint for me because i was no help, WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO! TAKE IT DOWN MYSELF?!

S'OK GMC. I though I'd missed a thread or something also. Can't set my dates. Everything always reads out @ 8, 2, 4 & then the correct time. Never true date of a post. Yet the time is always correct! Go figure  Thanks Stduck!

You're welcome. That's what I get for being nitpicky sometimes.

On a random Castle related note there was an e-mail sitting out on the CDS desk about the castle. According to the e-mail the ungilded spire happened in the previous castle referb and was intended to make it stand out only instead it made it look unfinished, so it isn't apart of the "Disneyland being unfinished thing" (I don't believe it)

Not exactly, because our poor little castle in Anaheim is so much smaller in scale compared to the castles at the other Disney parks. About 20 years ago, my bf at the time had his brother's family stopping in SoCal on the way from Japan to Washington (his brother was a Naval officer). The nephew was adorable - maybe 12 or 13, and since Japan was pretty safe, his folks allowed him to take the train from the base to Tokyo Disneyland every so often. So we were giving them the grand tour and got to the hub and the nephew was asking "where's the castle?" Sound familiar? I said "that's it," and he replies, "well, don't you have another castle?" I said, "nope, this is it..." Then he said, "well, isn't there a bigger one?" And I said "no," so he finally explained how the castle at Tokyo Disneyland was much much bigger than our little pile of stone. Made me feel rather sorry for poor Sleeping Beauty's Castle, having to compete with the bigger and better new editions, but it leads me to believe that if the guests have been to Euro or Tokyo Disneyland, they are going to easilly decide our little castle isn't the real deal.

still, it's where it's supposed to be and is in the same area as all the other parks. but alas i think guests are infact blind, where i work we have two trash cans in the main patio (it's a little place) and i swear one of them is invisible to the guests, one overflows while the other is completely empty and they are three feet away from each other.

Didn't some university do a study about which queue/whatever people will choose, and more go for the choice on the right than the left? Is it the right hand side trash can that usually overflows?

But as for the castle being where it's supposed to be...well, yeah, we know that, but who knows what is going through "their" minds...

When I was still in ODV I was working the popcorn wagon at the hub and with the guest facing it asked me where the castle was. I've also been asked "where's magic mountain?" "Well, it's about an hour and twenty minutes north on the 5 freeway!" I've also been asked by a very inebriated guest..."Does the brer bar have beer?" :p:
