Anyone working Fantasmic, or hear any stories about the cut-back in shows?

I've heard the stories of folks coming from the dinner package only to find their section filled, by guest that stampeded and broke into the roped off section.

Any update?

Thanks :p:

I knew that they had cut down on shows, but that's bad. Looking forward to seeing it again this summer. Last time we went, we got rained out 3 nights in a row.

Our last trip we didn't get to see it. Too much rain and not enough shows I guess.

Seriously, if it rains, down here in CA, Disneyland will cancel out Fantasmic!

It's different in WDW, when it rains, they have a rain show with just water projections.

They no longer have the Diner Guests enter from the bypass, they now have to come from Sunset Blvd.

Normaly they have the ropes set up like a funnel with a gate keeper... they must respond that they are the key holder in order to get in..... well maybe not the last part... but they did have to show proof that they are put of the dinning package.

Last time I worked their, their was not any mad rush to get in their... but if they canned a show due to weather.. i can see that happening!!!

Crowd Control?

In the World of Disney ( not the store ) their is no such thing as crowd control.... Its Audiance Control.....

Crowds are bad.. Audiances are good!!

Congrats! That is very exciting!

Which ones are you getting trained in?

It could be worst. Back when Disneyland had the MSEP, Fantasmic was going as well. SG were so bad. When the music combined, it sounded like a really bad popka.

Good luck with the training and fun. Don't forget you cattle prong!

Congrats! A good friend of mine was in F! years ago (I think she may have been part of the opening cast) and performed several tracks in the show - was always fun to know where she was when we'd catch a performance, esp. when we could cheer her on if she was one of the Native Americans floating by in the canoes in the Pocahontas scene. :D:

Well i was speaking with a Show Manager for F! and they said that Sept is going to be the definning moment for the show....

Show managment had to decide to either...

1: Close the show and only open it as a Seasonal Show

or

2: Open it back to full time, do an over haul on key show pieces

The reasoning behind this is mainly that the show costs are apx. 88k per show.

They have to pay out premiums <sp?> such as:
1: Noise
2: Pyro
3: Stunt
4: Face

With char. like John Smith who get paid the most... show ops cant "afford" all this...

Please take all that is said as being conjectual and possably not true... but I report to you what ever anyone tells me... truth or other wise.... Just like CNN... =-P

Anyone know for comparison what DL F! costs per show?
