View Full Version : No more bare breast checks at Disneyland?

I picked this up off AP and posted in in Examiner:

http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-2200-Orlando-Theme-Parks-Examiner~y2009m5d6-Flash-Mountain-to-return-to-Disneyland-Ride-photos-will-no-longer-be-scanned-for-bare-breasts

Kinda surprises me, as based on what I see here in FL at Disney and Universal, MORE people are making obscene gestures at the camera. I'm guessing they just didn't want to pay CMs to be photo screeners anymore.

Hehe, now there will be a photo record of people being SGs...
I predict the screeners will return eventually.

Thanks for the link to your page and your other articles. I also enjoyed reading about the "Autism Awareness" Cruise on the Disney Wonder.:)

They'll be back when the first complaints roll in about their little ones seeing nudity on the screens. And rightly so.

City Hall just completely re-vamped our system of processing Guest Concerns in preparation of this change. I saw it reported on TMZ TV last night, with the headline "FLASH AWAY!" *shudders*

When I used to work at the Splash photo shop, we didn't have people hired to just scan the pictures. We all rotated to screen photos in the ''owl house'' by the Splash exit. Unless they changed that since i've been gone:confused:

Easy way to take care of that is to have them displayed in an asults only nightclub!!

hehehehehe

I'm just kinda surprised that Disneyland announced this or made it public. Won't that just encourage the flashers now? I call bullshit on their assertion that there's no longer any need. I see the idiots at both Disney and Universal doing obscene things on almost every trip. On Hulk at Islands of Adventure, I think the censored photos with people flipping the bird actually outnumber the non-obscene-gesture ones.

We actually fired a couple of new employees for doing that at UO DURING the orientation tour! Talk about SETs! They decided to flash the camera on Mummy during a tour ride. Problem was, the tour leader/orientation teacher was keeping an eye on the group from the camera room. Oops!

And they will realize there mistake soon, like the mistakes people make against me in a game of Go.

I had this same thought. Why is it going public? It would be very simple (correct me?) to just drop photo check out of the rotation of positions wouldn't it? Why do they have to go and tell the media this? Also, I would think photo sales would more than pay for the CM required.

They DIDN'T go public.

MiceChat got hold of the news and wrote an article about how awful it was. 2 days later, AP, TMZ and the OC Register had all picked up the story. Disney simply responded. They HAD been hoping it would slip under the radar.

Also: There isn't 1 "position" meaning job where all you do is screen photos, it's not like someone got re-cast. They simply dropped the "position" in CDS (or, the assignment, if you will) so those CMs just get sent to guest control or greeter or an optimized task instead.

I am currently at Space in DLR and so far our photo scanners are still there. Still getting plenty of "lost in space" place holders. Not to mention when we have a down time they ask us to tell them when we come back up so they can man the edit room.

From what I hear Splash Mountain doesn't do it, but Space is still screening.

hehehehhe

whats that old joke?

two girls at the beach were talking about the new swimsuit that one had just bought.

The first girl: that looks great, and the color is perfect for you.

Ssecond girl: yeah, but I had trouble finding the right size.

First girl: what do you mean, it fits you.

Second girl: well, I wear a size 8, but I looked so good in a size 6, that I bought a size 4.

RUM?

my friend (up until... today. she quit) was often assigned to check for obscenities on space mountain, so.... yes.

Ah, edit room. Where we go to listen to the radio (read: Angels game) during an otherwise uneventful shift at ScreamCam.

But, that's right. Space doesn't have a radio.

I don't think you'd be able to get much of a signal from there anyway.

That reminds me... my Disney Development Connection Learning Plan includes "Image Capture - Tower of Terror" for some odd reason...

Used to have a radio there, too, for some reason :D:Tower also had a CD player in the radio. Remember The CM who always brought lots of his own CDs? Was cool - if one liked his CD taste. Ca Dude, so great to see you posting again. I miss you :) even though we were @ different parks I was always happy to see you. Last saw you @ Space 3 or so yrs. ago. Pm me sometime.

At least at Space we could drink coke. Splash even had a mini frig for the drinks. ;) So very cool to have you back CA Screamin Dude. Love it! You were gone too long.
