I'm one of the lucky ones who will be doing a GC shift for Miley's sweet 16 tonight and I'm pretty sure I'm going to have at least one SG story. Anyone else doing a GC shift?

P.s. Trust me, I'm jumping for joy...(I hope you caught on with the sarcasm)

I can't wait for these.

Are you doing the ACTUAL party or the babysitting the equipment???

Well, I just heard a grand flurry of Fireworks go off outside my window. So I believe its safe to assume that the night(mare) is over.

We now anxiously await the SG tales :D:.

My friend works in the park. She told me that her managers warned the morning crew if they tried to sneak back in after their shift, they would be terminated. If I were them, I would stay home and stay away from the parks.

Yea, for security reasons, they were really strict about that. They've been warning everyone for weeks that if a non-working CM was caught sneaking into the party via Backstage, that it would be grounds for immediate termination.

And we have our first SMPMT (Stupid Miley Party Media Trick)!

Miley Cyrus' Disney Party (http://www.myparkmag.co.uk/articles/celebrity/miley-cyrus-disney-party.html)

Miley Cyrus celebrated her 16th birthday in Disneyland, Florida, yesterday (05.10.08).

Were they even there!? And if so, were they aware when they landed at the airport that they were in California, and not Florida (or were they so jetlagged that they just saw the Orange County logo and assumed they were in Florida ).

I have to say, it was a bit misguided of them to have fireworks so late...It was past 11:00 PM!

I don't live next to the park, so all I heard were faint booming sounds, but I imagine that DL's neighbors did not appreciate the late night fireworks.

I thought there was a noise ordinence against fireworks on school nights? I think they can have fireworks on a Sunday night. If it was on Monday night, Disneyland would have to pay a fine.

I heard noises too around that time. Miley has lots of money, she can pay the fines.

And what fines those will be:

This makes Grad Nite fireworks look like child's play, in comparison.

I did watch the video and I turned it off half way through. Ok, maybe it was good for those who went, but the poor people who live behind the park I feel sorry for.

Earlier in the day Tyra Banks was in the park shooting (while the normal guests were still in the park). Some CMs doing GC for the area she was shooting in had an interesting experience with a young Tyra fan. The SG was crying and yelling at the CMs. Not everything she said was understandable, but the following was audible:

"I have to see her, you don't understand how important this is."
also: "I'm never coming back here again."
and: "I hate you!"

So I take it that Miley didn't plow her $100,000 plus car into a gaggle of 8 year olds while she was driving down Main Street.
Working this must have been an absolute nightmare, especially the GC and the front gate, will call etc....
Bring on the SG stories......

I realize this is an older post, but I worked that oh-so-memorable night and have a whole report here. Thought it might be good for a read.

Great report Little Cricket! I was (as was every guide in our department) on VIP that night, but I was with the ONLY celeb who wasn't invited to the event but simply bought tickets for his daughters. It turned out great because we got to just have fun at the party without having to be there hours early or do the purple carpet or the concert or anything. My guest knows Steve Carell really well, so we met up at one point and all rode the Astro Orbiter.

I agree that, all things considered, it wasn't as terrible a night as I was expecting. I guess when people pay $250 bucks a pop they take their behavior a little more seriously ;)

Good to hear that it wasn't a complete madhouse.

I'm still happy that I didn't work. The five screaming Miley Cyrus fans who are my cousins are too much for me, let alone 2500.
