I just saw a doozie of a SGT today.

I headed to the DLR in order to pick up the 2009 DLR Calendar (which is just adorable, by the way :D:), and was turning off Harbor and Disney Way into the Lion King lot.

Right there, smack dab in the middle of the street are two SGs trying to take a picture of the DLR entrance sign.

They were completely oblivious to the fact that they were standing in the middle of the street and straight in the path of oncoming traffic, which then had to be wait while they finished up, making the bad traffic in that area even worse.

I was too busy slamming on my brakes to avoid running over them to notice, lol. Probably were though .

I was driving through a mall parking lot and stopped to let a group of people cross in front of me. One stopped directly in front of my car to extract and light a cigarette. Astonished someone could be so stupid, I tooted the horn which startled him out of his pre nicotine high. He lurched forward while giving me a very dirty look. As I drove past I called out the window, "One way or another that cigarette is gonna kill you."

If look could kill. :D:

Back last Feb, we encountered a group of cheer leaders jay-walking across Katella. The girls were not to bright. There was a fire truck racing to a call and one of the girls stoped and try to get a picture of the truck coming towards her. A police car pulled over the group and gave them tickets.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!

Goes to show how intelligent they were thinking of taking a pic of the firetruck. I mean really, hmm, let's step in front while it speeds through real fast, like, weee omg!

I'm glad that officer did something about it.

OHHH I hate that! It is the utmost of ignorance, and i just want to reach through the windshield and choke out the perpetrator.

Once, while trying to make a difficult left hand turn across a very busy street in Toronto, i had a pedestrian run to the corner, and start to cross just as a break in the traffic appeared. He then slowed down to a crawl. Purposely, and deliberately, i swear it took him a whole minute to cross in front of my van, all the while staring directly at me. once he cleared the van, he started running again...

grrr.

At least it's not Montreal. When I was younger, I made a game of counting how many people we had to slam on the brakes for as they jaywalked across the street.

I think the record was around 40 for a 3 block stretch of boulevard René-Lévesque .

When my brother and his family were visiting from Arizonia, they went to the beach with me one day. This SG group was out crossing main street and stopped in the middle of the street to take a group photo. Not bright folks! On the right side of the pier is a police sub station. The police did come out and gave them a citation for blocking a busy intersection.

If you want a good picture, just go down in the sand and have someone take a picture of you. Even better, walk to the edge of the water and take a picture as the 15 ft wave knock's the SG over!

We lose a few tourists every year doing that very thing. A few years ago we had one mental giant that stood over a blow hole to have his pic taken when the water came flying out. The water threw him up into the air and then sucked him down the hole. His body was found a day later.

One less idiot in the gene pool. Of course, had those cheerleaders, and other SGs been run over, we might see some kind of improvement in the gene pool. Might take a couple of generations, but....

I find it rather unfortunate myself...that just means they'll live to be SGs a bit longer. :(

(hey, gotta put a positive spin on it somehow, right?)

Once when leaving the horrible parking structure, as I was negotiating the yellow traffic poles, I nearly ran smack into the tail of an SG who had STOPPED their freakin' car, and got out of it - right in the middle of the traffic lane - to take a picture of the resort.

On what planet do you stop your vehicles on a thoroughfare to get out and sightsee?

My wife has family in Kerrville, TX. If you go west on I-10, the first 80 MPH sign is not far from there. I haven't stopped to take pictures, but there isn't much traffic out that way, plus you can pull onto the grass and get well out of traffic.
