Looking for a CM or someone who has expericenced Mickey's NSSH party first hand to offer sage advice. 2 middle aged women, neither with kids, wonder if it would be appropriate to dress up and attend the party or if it would be frowned on for adults who are, of couse, kids at heart.
Thanks!

I go every year (sometimes more than once) with my 75+ year old parents and my 40-something brother/SIL. We love it! It's worth it alone for the parade and fireworks. Trick or Treating ain't bad either, and you can always bring your candy goodies in to work with you (I do - I'm popular in the office around halloween!). We don't dress up because I never think to do it until it's too late, but many adults do. Go, be a kid at heart. That's what Disney's all about!

The only reason I didn't dress up was the lack of finding a costume in time. Our trip was early in the season, and not all of the halloween stores were open yet. Have fun!

My Disney buddy Karen and I are both middle aged (and then some) and we drove down to WDW last October for MNSSHP and had a blast! We had our Safari Mickey outfits on and went through all the trick-or-treat stations, rode all the rides, watched the parade (which was awesome), ate dinner at 1900 Park Fare and played with the characters, and had a great time.
We also did an Illuminations Cruise with a bunch of strangers (no offense, Big Wallaby, you're no longer a stranger ;) ) and blew bubbles and had a birthday celebration for a little girl on the boat. It was a fun trip. :D:
I think that's one of the best things about WDW and DL, ANYBODY act like a kid and have a great time without fear of looking silly. I feel sorry for the SGs who can't let their hair down and have fun.

When I was on vacation last year. My family went to the party. We had a good time. The only bummer was a thunder storm with heavy rain.:)

No, go right ahead! I know plenty of adults who dress up for the special events.:)

Don't understand why anyone would be discouraged from doing so. It the one time adults can wear costumes at MK - then again there was that wacky 20 something Snow White with pink hair ....
Cause of the nutty do's that Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique put out, I'm half tempted to go as an 80's Pop-Princess and get made over there.

We've only been with the kids, but dressed up both times. I got a couple of mock turtleneck white shirts from lands end and ironed on DH and my names on the front with those black letters you can get at the craft store. Add a pair of jeans and a pair of mouse ears each and instant Mouseketeers. And is helps that both our names are sort of Mouseketeerish. We got lots of nice comments from the cast memebers.

My sister and I (both in our late 30's) went last year. I was Underdog and she was a black cat. I saw go for it and have a great time :)

I love this idea! I'll going to my first MNSSHP this Oct and I've been at a complete loss as to what I'll dress up as. This just jumped into first place!

I know three women from Chicago who come to MNSSHP about every two yaers and their costumes are all same same each time: Flora, Fauna and Merriweather. And their builds are correct for the characters.

My friend and I attended MNSSHP for the first time last year. We're both over the age of 18 (24 and 30 respectively) and we both dressed up for the party. We were in fact some of the only adult princesses (I was Cinderella and she was Belle) in attendance at the party. I say go for it. It doesn't matter how old you are, if you want to dress up and attend MNSSHP then go for it! :D:

When my wife and I went last year, we both dressed up. We don't have any small children. I went in full firefighting turnout gear (liners removed so I would not cook myself) and my wife went as a pirate princess (Arrrr)
No one said a word except to compliment us.

Which leads me to ask ... Would CMs be amused or irritated if one wore a t-shirt labeled "Stupid Guest," especially if one came armed with a list of memorable questions from this website but asked them with a knowing look?...
Which leads me to ask ... Would CMs be amused or irritated if one wore a t-shirt labeled "Stupid Guest," especially if one came armed with a list of memorable questions from this website but asked them with a knowing look?...Sounds freaking hilarious to me! I could get into that:
"Excuse me, do you work here? What time is the three o'clock parade?"
"It's always at three o'clock, but because it's so hot today we're having it at 3 a.m. Better grab a spot on the curb early, folks will be stretching out for a nap."

They might think you are joking as people who do SGTs think they are smart and all knowing. They were very smart to ask a CM for information. Thus they would never wear "stupid Guest" on their clothing. Not a CM but I would think it was a joke.
As for replies, it depends on if it is their last day working. Do expect witty remarks as Zasu state, lol.

I think that the CM's would get a kick out of it, those that are knowledgeable about SGT. You might get a few strange looks from SG's!! But then again, most SG's can't Handel a different tune!!

My daughter and I went a couple of years ago. Now I know she is a kid but we had a blast. We both thought the best part was sitting on Main Street and watching all the people (adults and kids alike) walking in and seeing what they were dressed up as. It was great fun. We are going this year and she is a teenager now. We both will dress up and have lots of fun.
Everyone should do it!

Do they give out candy at MNSSH? At Knott's Camp Spooky, the candy they give out is cheap crap. I can understand avoiding allergies, but I honestly think Knott's is too cheap to give out the good stuff. I'd rather be at DLR than Knott's anyhow. I just need a job so I can afford it....

I seem to remember that the candy was all Wonka. But that was a couple of years ago. Might be Goofy Candy Co. now. Not enough chocolate for me, but I guess they were afraid that chocolate would melt if it was hot.

There was a wide variety of everything from small hard candies to chocolate last October, with lots of trick-or-treating stations scattered throughout the Magic Kingdom. It was warm, muggy and rainy the night we went. Bring your own bag (heavy duty plastic or lightweight cloth) as the bags Disney provides are quite small and lightweight and seem to rip easily. We used the Disney bags to get the treats, then emptied them into a larger bag with a tie string that we kept in our backpack.
The parade alone was worth the price of admission. The costumes and make-up are amazing, especially the grave diggers, and I loved the Headless Horseman riding through on a real horse just before the parade starts.

Sarah Magdalene-The candy we got last Friday night in the park is called: "Child's Play." We get stuck with a pallet full after that event at the office.
Our group did get allot of candy and I have still allot of it left, so I will bring it to work.

Our youngest in our family is about 16 and we still dress up. I was a pirate last year and plan to go as Indidana Jones next year. Failing that, maybe a Gostbuster :D: I don't care who's gonna "frown upion it." Because as Dr. Seuss once said "Those who matter won't mind and those who mind don't matter." That and come on, free candyu!!
Also, as for what you get, last time I was there, we got a lot of those colorful candy coated mini Kisses along with some other variouis stuff. Is the candy provided by sponsers and thus hanges depending on who's sponsoring that year?

Just found ourt my boyfriend is taking me to Not So Scary for my birthday, which is on the 19th. We're going the 21st. I am sooo excited!! I've never been. My bf has no idea what to go as. I have a sort of costume picked out, but I dont know if I should try for something more original or just keep it simple. I cant wait! If anyone has any idea, I have 11 days!

For him there's always the option of getting him one of the funny hats and making him wear that all night.
Also don't really have any ideas for you ... but happy 6th birthday!

Easy, it tastes better than Pepsi! Of course the best drink of them all is Dr Pepper, but not just any Dr Pepper, but Dublin Dr Pepper, made from pure cane sugar, and bottled by the Dr Pepper plant in Dublin, TX!
That quote is attributed to Walt when they had to make the decision between water fountains and bathrooms. I heard it on the Disney Treasurers DVD, Disneyland secrets.

I went to mikeys halloween rucus at DCA yesterday. Let me tell you, some adults were showing way too much skin.
I didn't wear a costume though. There was also a 13 year old girl in a "I dream of Jeanie" costume with her entire belly showing. Also, some 10 year old boy almost got hit by a float in the parade. Stupid people.
