View Full Version : TMs Have Incredible Patience!

Mr. Syndrome and I were at IOA today (yes, we're insane enough to brave the Spring Break crowds). Even with the after 4 "god pass," the Express lines were still pretty wicked on the most popular rides. Hubby went on one of them while I waited near the Express Pass entrance. Just in the time it took him to ride, I decided that I would have strangled at least half the guests if I had been the TM. My favorite was the half-dozen people with preferred passes who argued for several minutes that they were entitled to Express. The TM kept rebuffing them, and they whipped out their pass jackets and insisted that he read through 'em till he found the proof. At that point, I couldn't bite my tongue any longer. I whipped out my premiere pass and said, "Your passes are NOT good for Express. THIS is what a premiere looks like." If looks could have killed, my head would have exploded then and there, but at least they shut up and went away.

I lost count of the people coming with two or three unused Express passes for a group of six to seven, not to mention those who were trying to get through with their regular tickets. COnsidering how late it was in the day, I suspect most of them knew it was BS and were trying to see what they could get away with. I was amazed at the TMs patience as he muddled through them and turned the cheaters away. He told me his favorite was the person who turned up with a hotel key...from 2006!

Good for YOU Syndrome. Nothing like being able to shut down those 'stupid' little farts. Good for the TM,for not backing down.
The story about the hotel key-card is too f-in funny.

along the same lines, this past weekend I was at greeter over at Capt Jake's and I had a guest hand me a 3 day old FP from Test Track and ask: "can I use this on this ride?" to witch I replied "no, this is an expired fast pass from Epcot, you're in Universal Studios." to which she said "you don't accept passes from competators?" I said no and directed her to the normal line. She didnt make a fuss but I gotta wonder what would make someone think we did such a thing?

You could have stated, "No, this is not Miracle on 34th Street, nor Macy's."
This would have taken IQ & a background. Your guest showed neither. :D:

I'm sure TMs see all sorts of things when they man the Universal Express line. I bet nothing surprises them!

My favorite, though, is when guests in the single riders line want to ride together. Didn't you read the big sign out front for single riders? The TM had to explain to the guests the concept of the single riders line.

Over this wonderful season aka Spring break....here are my two stories that stick out
First I was show hotel keys as express passes.......from 2003

Second.....Due to the high number of people jumping in the express line we started double checking express passes right before you got on the ride. I had a family tell me their express passes were in the free lockers we made them put their bags in. (For those of you that don't know we don't have lockers for Captain Jakes.)
