I have been reading this forum for a while and it is hilarious. While I am not a cast member, my daughter worked at the Emporium, so I guess indirectly I qualify to tell my story.
I am known by my family as one who enjoys stretching the truth a bit. On one particular trip we were on the monorail going to Epcot. As spaceship earth came into view I said "Look kids, it's Spaceship Earth. The amazing thing is, it only weighs 80 pounds. It was placed on the supports by a single worker on a stepladder. The hardest thing was picking a day to do it on, since there could be no wind." Now my wife is rolling her eyes, kids are giggling. As we exited the monorail, there was a guy who obviously considered himself quite the WDW expert and had a group of first timers with him, and I heard him say: "In front of you is Spaceship Earth. Amazingly enough, it weighs only 80 pounds......"
Sorry, all you Epcot CM's. If you have heard this bit of trivia, I confess, I started it.

Hee! Love it! I'm going to have to start doing stuff like that just to see if I can get other SG's to bite. (I like to "embellish" stories to my kids too. They're sharp enough -- and know enough about Disney -- to know when I'm kidding, and they'd probably get a kick out of listening to others.)

Sadly, once upon a time my husband believe at ALL of Epcot was INSIDE of Spaceship Earth! Yes, the poor devil believed that the sphere was the whole park.

To Those working at SSE, I am sorry. Now with the new corporate sponsor the jokes are going to fly, getting old real quick. But I couldn't even resist the thought that "Oh look its a huge ball full of SIEMEN(s)!". So sorry. :D:

The Disney golf course stole it, they needed it becasue Michael Jordan came and needed a ball that would be the right size to hit (all the other balls were too small)
