A lot of guests have asked about the year on our new name tags. The worst happened a couple of days ago when a woman asked and when I replied that's the year I was hired, she replied, " I thought you looked awfully old to have graduated in 1999". Thanks lady! Any other stories???

The most common question asked is "What the Class of mean?" Nothing too crazy about that.

I love it now because if a guest asks a certain question and doesnt get the answer they want, they really can't fight us seasoned CMs because we've been here awhile. For example, a guest last week was looking for a certain watch that we no longer carried. I told her we haven't carried it for years and before she could argue back she took a look at the hire year on my nametag and conceded that I was right. Boy, I love being right sometimes! :D:

Works the other way, too, though. My nametag says "Class of 2004." However, I was also an AP for nine years before that and a CM for three more.

No, I'm not a newbie.

Nearly all my friends ask why mine says 2005 when I graduated high school in 2003. Phooey!

I haven't been able to figure out why people would actually think that the Class of is the year that we graduated HS...mine is pretty cool cuz it is the year that i graduated...but still...why would they think that...
But have you seen them ask some of the older newbies..."is that the year you graduated? what did you graduate from?" and they look at them like their stupid cuz they think that they just graduated from HS...sometimes i wish i had that tho so i could mess with them...i want to get a nametag that says like...class of 1975...ten years before i was born... :D:

Why are they going to make 75th anniversary nametags diamond crusted...look at how cheap this company has sadly become as it is...i think the nametags would have been cooler if they were like the original nametags from the park opening...a whole bunch of other things are going back to the original...why not nametags?

Actually, the original name tags didn't have names, but the cm's employee number. Wouldn't want to be known by an 8 digit number, but then again, it would be harder for a guest to remember a bunch of numbers when they had a complaint about you!!! :D:

yea i noticed that whenever you get a name tag reguardless of where u work im usually disappointed....its typically cheap plastic with the pin part glued on "professionally" and they stamp ur name into it.....when i got one working at the Presidio of SF i was pleasently surprised when it was made of brass with my name etched and coloured with enamel...now that was a nice name tag...and best part, it was free!! :D: :D:

Share some Presidio stories plz :)ya know... i never really had many stories of the Presidio... except that when it was a military base, my dad got a ticket from the military police... that was interesting to say the least... i know this is a bit off topic but it is kinda erie driving through the base at night... its dimly lit and theres a big military cemetary in the middle which is freaky... though its really interesting to walk throught he head stones, in daylight of course :D: :D:. i heard about the old letterman hospital being haunted, but that was torn down recently and build on top of by the new lucas studios... its a really cool lookin building... not sure what else though... its really creepy when the fog rolls in and its still dark then u get the feeling that someone or thing is followin you :D: GMC would probably enjoy the presidio :D: :D:

My gold 50th has a new life. Went to HP Team Center before my Sun. shift & CM said no real problem. She replaced the pin backing & told me to hold it tightly for 10 mins to set the glue. Of course this is not as prestigious as S F Presidio brass pin with etched name in enamal coloring, but it was free!! :D: Tell us again MEng.....why are you leaving Golden Gate area to work for a cheap mouse? ;) :D: Suppose you'll complain about SOCAL water when you arrive :raccoon:
You NORCAL folk

Suppose you'll complain about SOCAL water when you arrive :raccoon:Now why would he complain about SoCal water? Half of it's *from* NorCal! And it's not like they know what to do with it. :hottub:

See Zasu, I KNEW he'd pull the water card. Just had a feeling this would be MEng's next agenda item ;) NORCALers are raised to insult our fresh, clean SOCAL water. Somethin' in their gene fabric

Wait a minute MEng, "water sacrelege?" Oh, this is a bit over the top :D: Too funny. SOCAL didn't originally steal your water. No way! Yes, San Fran's water is stolen! Dam Hetch Hetchy -1913. 43 to 25 vote. Your Mayor Phelan helped pilfer water to S F. plus he was paid to pilfer. Somethings never change. Code 90 days @ DL you'll be BEGGING us for some "end of the line Colorado River weird hybrid." You'll probably be 1st in the water line :D: I'll have my camera ready & post your grateful pic. :) ;)

you think your nametags are cheap? Mine is made out of lego bricks and cheaply glued and then name comes out of one of those sticker label maker thingys. Well i guess the lego bricks are kinda useful and it is legoland. we get to put all kinds of lego bricks on themas long as our name is readable
