View Full Version : What was that comment?!

What I mean is that every so often, your brain comes to a screeching halt when you hear certain comments. For example:

I was at the Studios today with a buddie since he had never been to AK (We started at AK, made our to the Studios after seeing Lucky). Well a friend I work with at Coaster saw us at Lights! Motors! Action! (LMA) and told me that coaster had never opened this morning and they projected it to POSSIBLY open at 6 PM tonight (This being May 9th, dunno if it did or not, not sure what the problem is/was).

SO as we're leaving LMA and going to EPCOT my buddie (who knows enough about Coaster asked me some general questions) he asked me how long the ride was and I said:

Oh, about 90 seconds. From the time the train leaves load until it gets to unload its 3:12, but the coaster part itself is about 90 seconds.

Friend: Oh ok, so about a minute and a half

Me: Yeah, sorta like that 90 second deal...

Took it a few seconds to register but then it was one of the "There it is..." moments...he didn't talk until we go to EPCOT and to Soarin'....which was about twenty minutes total...

So, hear any comments that make blood shoot out your nose when you think about what they just said?

for me, it was at unload at the Haunted Mansion. I was walking the belt as usual when a teenager got off the ride. He walked towards me, looked down at the ground, looked back up at me and said "it's kinda like an escalator, only sideways."

Let it be known that the Lewis Black Fan Club is now formed. Spread the word on messages boardwide.

"There was a moment in time that America was able to stop and look, as a group and and see where all of the problems in America during that year came from, and that obviously was Janet Jackson's breast. It's the only explination as to why everyone stopped on a dime and said at the same time, LOOK AT THAT TIT!"-Lewis Black

Sorry if I managed to offend any females, but it's the truth.

When we have one of those moments when Guests aren't listening (Nothing new) but I mean you can hit them with a shovel and they won't respond I normally chime in with my now famous saying:

"You know, the wheel is there...but there's a note from the gerbil that says "Back at 3 pm"

Apparently it's funny because of how I say it so if you ever find me (CJ, remember the name) just ask me to say it and see if it's true.

One of the girls in the office where I work was in the break room one day and she was microwaving a TV dinner that had one of those brownie thingies in it. She sadly scooped it out and threw it away and then she said, "I don't know why I bought one with a brownie in it, it's not Easter yet."

We all kindof looked at her like, "huh?" and she looked back at us like there was no reason we shouldn't understand perfectly what she meant.

"What?" She said, "I gave up sugar for Lent..."

Now it's a bit of a running joke when we run into her in the hallway, coming up with completely insane sentences. My fav so far was "I don't know why my eye itches, it's not snowing outside.."

A married friend of mine (male) says that he gives up sex for Lent. "It's easy because I don't get much of it anyway."

I was standing at the entrance of the Norway pavilion the other day, and a man walks up to the CM and says, "Where is that big German restaurant?"

She said, "What?"

The man said, "The big German restaurant... Where is it?"

It must've been so hard for her to remain polite and non-sarcastic, but she did. She said, "If you just walk out here and take a left, the Germany pavilion is just down there."

But I did say to her, "You should have told him to take a right and keep walking."
She had a good laugh, but she stayed in character the whole time.

My mom (bless her heart, she LOVES Disneyland, she's never been to WDW) would be the perfect stupid guest. I love her but she asks some really strange questions. I remember when my brother and I were younger and at a mall. We were on the lower level and needed to get to the second or main level to go to the car. We went into one of the stores that had two floors and there was a cool looking large spiral staircase in there. My mom looks at the staircase and, I shit you not, asks, "Does this go up?" My bro and I looked at each other and you could hear a pin drop before the explosive laughter that came out of us. :hysteria: She has had to put up with us for the rest of her life. She still is hearing about it...I know, my bro and I are brats! She really is not stupid, actually she is very bright, she just comes up with these kinds of statements every once in a while, and it IS genetic... :twitch: :( So I guess she got her revenge by passing on her genes to me....

A little less than two years ago my mother (then only 91) was visiting me for a few days. I took her to Epcot one day and among other things, went to The American Adventure.

During the Valley Forge scene she turns to me and quietly asks: "Michael, is that a real horse General Washington is sitting on?" I told her that it was not.

On the way out, and afterwards, I tried to convince her that she had seen only audioanimatronics and no live people. I think at the time she did not really believe me.

What finally convinced her was at the end of the year when I was up in New York for the family holiday party when I gave her an Imagineering Field Guide to Epcot with a bookmark at the American Adventure pages.

Guest question today: "Do you have a Partridge Family ride here?"

I managed to stay composed and respond "No, I'm sorry, we don't", but I'm thinking ... ok, why would anyone even WANT such a ride, and where would you get any idea that we had something like that?

I heard one on Friday as we were at Haunt at Knott's.

The guy in front of us as we were waiting to go in the Doll Factory maze says." I don't want to go in there. I don't like walking through mazes and having weirdos scaring me."

WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU HERE FOR THEN!

WHAT THE HELL?!?!?!?! Who goes to WDW not to have fun? That is why Walt came up with Disneyland and Walt Disney World. He wanted a place where everybody, not just the children, can have fun.

Just about slammed on my brakes in surprise.Hmmm... I know it's natural to react in shock, but let's give the guy the benefit of the doubt. Couldn't there be legitimate reasons to visit WDW other than to have fun? Let's brainstorm:
Doing research for their own personal multi-billion-dollar entertainment complex.
Intended to go to a funeral, but got on the wrong plane, and taxi, and bus.
They work for the IRS and/or Democratic Party.
Just had too much darn money lying around, and this was the quickest way to dispose of it. :D:

If they have that much money, they should spend it on working at Disney! I was chatting with a little boy yesterday at Epcot while I was waiting for my family to get back from the restroom. I mentioned I worked at Disney. In wonderment, the boy asked "wow, how much do you have to pay to WORK here!?" I told him they actually paid ME (not very much, but hey, it's better than nothing) and the look on his face was priceless! Future CM in the making!
